Seocho-dong is home to many of Seoul's top courts and law firms, including the workplaces of jaded veteran attorney Ahn Ju Hyeong (Lee Jong Suk) and fellow lawyers Cho Chang Won (Kang You Seok), Bae Mun Jeong (Ryu Hye Young), and Ha Sang Gi (Im Seong Jae), who all work in the same building. While they don't all work in the same office, they come together to share their highs and lows over lunch and other outings. As the attorneys navigate difficult cases, a sudden firm merger, and unexpected personal issues, they find ways to rely on each other. However, their tight-knit group gets a shakeup with the arrival of optimistic rookie attorney Kang Hui Ji (Moon Ga Young) who shares a past connection with Ju Hyeong – but he doesn't seem to remember her. Will this change things for the better, or for the worse?
00:00Law in the City follows five young associate lawyers trying to find their footing in Seocho Judicial Town, a fast-paced legal hub in Seoul.
00:07It's a place full of pressure, ambition, and moral gray zones.
00:10And the story zooms in on how these fresh-faced lawyers juggle their careers, personal struggles, and the ever-blurry line between right and wrong.
00:17The main characters, An-Joo Hyeong, Kang Hee-ji, Cho Chang-won, Bae Moon-jong, and Ha Sang-gi, each work at different law firms in the same building.
00:25But over time, they become close.
00:26Their little group, Abyon Joost, mixes friendship with rivalry, offering a lot of room for both personal bonding and professional tension.
00:32An-Joo Hyeong stands out as the calm, steady veteran of the group.
00:36He's been with the same firm for nine years and is known for keeping a cool head.
00:39But he isn't immune to the strain of constant competition and the emotional weight of legal work.
00:43In contrast, Kang Hee-ji is just starting out and has a totally different energy.
00:47Bold, passionate, and not afraid to speak her mind.
00:50Her go-getter attitude often clashes with An-Joo Hyeong's logical and reserved style.
00:54But their interactions bring out growth in both of them.
00:56Hee-ji pushes him to open up, while he grounds her idealism with a more experienced perspective.
01:01Their relationship creates one of the show's most interesting dynamics, hinting at both personal and emotional evolution, and maybe romance.
01:07What really sets law and the city apart is how it shows the less glamorous side of being a lawyer.
01:13The characters face ethical dilemmas where the answers aren't always black and white.
01:17They have to make tough calls that test their principles, deal with complicated clients, and navigate difficult office politics.
01:23And while courtroom scenes do pop up, the show leans more into slice-of-life storytelling.
01:27Beyond personal storylines, the drama also touches on bigger themes, the growing public skepticism toward the legal profession.
01:33The characters are constantly dealing with the pressure of maintaining integrity in a system that doesn't always reward it.
01:39This adds another layer of tension as they try to stay idealistic in a world that keeps testing their limits.
01:44With a mix of humor and the hustle of legal life, Law and the City offers a grounded look at what it really means to be a young lawyer in a big city.
01:51It digs into the day-to-day realities and the quiet victories of doing the right thing.
01:56With strong character dynamics, the show promises both emotional depth and relatable drama.
02:00Law and the City is shaping up to be more than just another legal drama.
02:04It's a story about people trying to figure themselves out while navigating one of the toughest jobs out there.
