00:10Firnellyn Kharsintyou had gone to the market with her father to sell farm produce on 30 June
00:14in Meghalia's Merang. According to police and eyewitnesses, a man later identified as 25-year-old
00:20Roberto Mangar approached Firnellyn and began arguing with her. Moments later,
00:24he allegedly pulled out a knife and slit her throat. This horrifying act took place right
00:29in front of her father. Locals quickly overpowered Mangar as he attempted to flee and handed him
00:34over to the police. He is now in custody. Police say the attack appears to be linked to a personal
00:38dispute, possibly over a failed relationship. The victim's father told authorities that Firnellyn
00:44had distanced herself from the accused, who allegedly couldn't accept her decision.
00:48On 1st July, her funeral was held with full Presbyterian rites. Presbyterianism is a branch
00:53of Protestant Christianity, led by elders and rooted in the reformed tradition.
