00:00Appealing for some more public information in relation to the death of a male, he was
00:06located on the side of the Muir Highway, approximately 11 kilometres south of Giroudary, on Tuesday
00:12the 17th of June, around 12.35pm, we found that gentleman after the information we had
00:20received from the public.
00:21I can confirm now that that gentleman's name is Mr Mark Ackers, a 44 year old man from
00:28Brisbane in Queensland, and the strike force cementer has been established for the
00:357th of June, and was believed to be travelling from Brisbane in Queensland through to Melbourne,
00:54being accompanied by a passenger.
00:56He was travelling in his black 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 series, and that vehicle
01:04is a very distinctive vehicle.
01:06It's totally black with a bull bar, driving lights on the front, and above the windscreen
01:11there's some pink stickers written across the top of the windscreen.
01:17And we're appealing today for persons in the community that may have any information surrounding,
01:22by the sighting that vehicle from the time it entered New South Wales, or having any information
01:28around that vehicle.
01:29I can confirm today that we've seized that vehicle and that's being forensically tested.
01:35It's performing part of our investigation surrounding the circumstances and the death of Mr Ackers.
01:43The strike force of Ventum so far, through previous appeal that we've had, have received certain information from members of the public,
01:50which have led us to a number of lines of inquiry.
01:53Also in relation to the death of Mr Ackers, the initial results of the postmortem have suggested
01:59that he's been hit by a vehicle, and we're treating his death, as I said previously, as suspicious
02:05at this stage.
02:06Again, this is a public appeal for anyone who may have information that may be able to come
02:13forward and provide us with that information, no matter how small they believe it may be.
02:20And we're particularly interested in the movements of Mr Ackers from 2.30am on the 16th of June,
02:27early hours of the 16th of June, where we believe he left a service station on South East Street
02:36at Derilderie, and then continued south from Derilderie towards Finlay.
02:41And it's in this particular area that we're focusing our investigation at the moment, and
02:48we're trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding what happened after Mr Ackers left
02:54at Derilderie, up until when we were notified by members of the public that there was a
03:03person on the side of the road, 11km south of Derilderie.
03:07So that timeframe, and I'll reinforce this, that timeframe is roughly between 2.30am on
03:13the 16th of June, until we located Mr Ackers deceased at 12.35pm on Tuesday the 17th of June.
03:24So that requirement was the case last four hours come on Friday.
03:29So if you're wanting to place an opportunity, you don't feel the opportunity for others to
03:35see now without their problems and have a job.
03:38So um, this working was is within 15.30am on a 17th of June's small했는데.
