Another episode of Look around London
Transcript
00:00Hello and welcome back to another edition of Look Around London.
00:05The Tower of London is one of the most iconic landmarks in the UK, with a history spanning
00:11nearly a thousand years. Built by William the Conqueror in 1078, it has served as a
00:16royal palace, a fortress, a prison and even a zoo. It was the site of several high-profile
00:23executions, including Anne Boleyn and Lady Jane Grey.
00:29Today it's home to the crown jewels, guarded by the ceremonial Yeoman Warders, also known
00:35as Beef Eaters. The Tower is steeped in legend, from ghost stories to suspicion that the United
00:42Kingdom will fall if the resident ravens ever leave. It's also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
