This summer marks 100 years of television, so we went out into Manchester to ask people on the street about their favourite shows ever.
Transcript
00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name's Theorec Euston-Bett and this
00:03summer marks 100 years of television. We want to know very, very simply what
00:08people's favourite shows are and why it means so much to them.
00:12Hello Dave.
00:13And it's just a really obvious one, like The Sopranos, probably like in terms of just like a perfect
00:18television show and like a show that changed like what a television series could be.
00:23A fine line between the Blackadder series and Fawlty Towers, it's my favourite of things but
00:29then that's comedy probably you often need to be top to break the monotony in life whereas
00:37series is probably something like Walking Dead or Lost or something like that as a sci-fi
00:43type of things but I could list, my list is endless.
00:46Your list is endless.
00:47Yours is difficult.
00:48Yeah.
00:49I'd probably go The Simpsons, I feel like, you know, you're golden years and you've got
00:52enough television there to just re-watch that over and you don't have to worry about, I've
00:56not watched anything past about 2005 but I don't have to.
