Transcript
00:00Hello, yes, Transport for London has introduced high-speed 4G and 5G service on further stretches of the northern Piccadilly and Victoria lines.
00:13TfL has been working with Boulder Networks to expand mobile coverage across the Hull Tube, the Docklands Light Railway and the Elizabeth Line network as well,
00:24including on the Windrush line between Highbring-Islington and New Cross.
00:30Most recently, TfL confirmed that mobile coverage had been expanded on the network from Euston to Bank on the Bank branch of the northern line, as well as from Ballam to South Wimbledon.
00:44Now, this means that customers travelling from South Wimbledon to Stockwell now have continuous coverage on the northern line.
00:54This will be extended in the tunnels down to Morden and up to Kennington by the end of the summer of 2025.
01:04Plus, Kennington, Oval, Tooting, Broadway and South Wimbledon stations all now have high-speed mobile coverage.
01:11More stations and tunnels are also set to go live in the coming months, and this will expand the coverage to King's Cross and Pancras, Green Park and further parts of the Victoria line as well, from Green Park to Brixton.
01:28The number of prosecutions for fare evasion on the London Underground has risen to its highest level for six years,
01:35with figures shown now by Transport for London showing that they prosecuted 3,691 people on the tube from 24 to 25 and issued over 13,000 penalty notices and 850 written warnings.
01:51In the same period, there was also a record number of penalties handed out on the London Underground as well, but the number of prosecutions fell by a third on the previous year.
02:03And Belfast Rap Trio Kneecap have said they are banned from advertising one of their posters on the London Underground.
02:14The group have been in the headlines since one of their members was accused of allegedly supporting a prescribed terrorist organisation.
02:24He has denied that charge.
02:26Then in a social media post, they said that they have been banned from advertising on the London tube.
02:35Transport for London has come out and said it approves adverts on a case-by-case basis,
02:41and deemed the kneecap poster showing their frequently used logo depicting a balaclava to promote a September concert would likely cause widespread or serious events to reasonable members of the public.
