00:04Buckingham Palace has been the official London residence of British monarchs since 1837 when Queen Victoria moved in.
00:11Originally built in 1703 as Buckingham House for the Duke of Buckingham,
00:16it was purchased by King George III in 1761 for his wife, Queen Charlotte,
00:23and then over time it was expanded into the Great Palace known today.
00:27Featuring 775 rooms and the famous balcony used for royal appearances,
00:34still a working royal residence, it remains a powerful symbol of the British monarchy and national tradition.
00:42Each summer the palace opens its state rooms to the public, drawing visitors from around the world.
00:47It also hosts key events like state banquets, royal garden parties and official receptions.
