We learn about the rich history of The Tower of London

00:00Let's take another look around London, and today we're headed to the Tower of London.
00:09The Tower, founded in 1066 by William the Conqueror, is a historic fortress that has
00:13served as a royal palace, prison and armoury. It's known for the dark history of its prisoners,
00:19including Anne Boleyn and Guy Fawkes, many of whom passed through the infamous Traitor's
00:23Gate, a water entrance where those accused of treason were brought by boat.
00:28The Tower is home to the Crown Jewels and the Yeoman Warders, or Beefeaters, who guard
00:33its treasures.
00:35With its rich history spanning over 900 years, it remains one of London's most iconic landmarks.
00:41The nearest tube stations are Tower Hill on the Circle and District Lines, and London
00:45Bridge on the Jubilee and Northern Lines.
