00:00I know there's so many stats that the PGA Tour offers and that you can go and try to parse through to figure out, you know, what makes a great player on the PGA Tour.
00:09And Scottie Sheffler year in and year out is leading or close to leading that bogey avoidance category, which is one of the most key statistics of what you're just speaking upon.
00:17But when you when you look at what makes a player great, when we talk about Scottie Sheffler, you want to talk about Bryce and Rory, Xander Schauffele, what do you look at first and what makes a great modern player now in 2025?
00:33Speed. I mean, if there's any one thing I think is hilarious, it's that we needed data to prove distance is important.
00:39Like, it's just it's so funny to me that like that. Oh, my God, look, that's an uncovered gem right there.
00:45And it's just like, yes, hit it as far as you possibly can.
00:48Like I when I was in my 20s playing professionally, I hit it past everyone.
00:52And so when the new modern 45 inch at the time driver shaft started coming out, whereas my little 43 and a half inch steel shafted Cobra.
00:59So I'm like, I hit it past everyone already. I don't need more distance.
01:02And it's like more is better. And that's, you know, Bryson obviously took that to the extreme.
01:07But that's what you know, like when Morikawa, I mean, and Colin, you know, he came to my seminar while he was at Cal and speed.
01:13When those guys first come out on tour and they've got this 10 percent win rate through, you know, two or three seasons, whatever it was for both of them.
01:20And I like both guys. I mean, I'm definitely a fan of both of them, but I'm like, that's not sustainable.
01:25You can't win at that rate on the PGA tour unless you hit it past everyone because your strokes gain driving number.
01:32And we've got four categories. It's kind of limited. Let's just make up a number point to five shots.
01:37You can't no one's going to magically like Zach Blair with all due respect.
01:41Zach first name popped in my head. Zach Blair is not going to all of a sudden gain six strokes off of it off the team one week.
01:47Anyone my daughter could technically go out there and gain six strokes on the on the putting green on any given week.
01:53And that's where the further you hit it, that that ceiling is just higher.
01:58And so distance is by far the if I were a college coach, that's almost exclusively what I'd be recruiting.
02:04Recruiting.
