00:00came up in the Phillies game against the Atlanta Braves which shockingly the Phillies scored what
00:0413 runs in that game which I'm still shocked by that's more they score like in the past five weeks
00:08combined it feels like but Trey Turner was trying to become Tom the only I think the first player
00:13in Major League Baseball to have four cycles hit in his career and if anybody knows the cycle is
00:18home run single double and a triple he came up late in that game with a I think it was an outfield
00:24I don't remember who the game was maybe a backup catcher in for Atlantic and he said honestly the
00:28first two pitches like I tried to rip the baseball like down the like left or right field line to see
00:33if I can like land it perfectly and wind up with a triple here but you know what he wound up doing
00:37Tom he hit a home run he said well he had two home runs and that's a big night but he said it entered
00:42into his mind rounding the bases in a blowout scenario and not stepping on home plate which
00:49then would mean it's not a home run you're out but it gives you a triple as opposed to a home run or
00:55anything else which would have gave him the cycle I've never heard anybody talk that way but I got
00:59to tell you if he would have done that and me as a Phillies fan you like if you are Major League
01:04Baseball don't you just have to out that like that doesn't count that is the most ridiculous thing but
01:09theoretically it does so for you Tom if he sidestepped home plate got the actual cycle goes
01:15I'm the only one ever to do this four cycles in my career how's your reaction to that and what do you
01:19believe should have happened my reaction is the gall on him to do it and then admit it I kind of
01:27respect that this this reminds me of a blowout game in the NBA when a player intentionally misses a shot
01:34to grab a rebound so he can get a triple correct I listen there are things that we can debate in
01:40terms of uh is it breaking the unwritten rules sports are supposed to be fun that's like that I will
01:46go I would die on this sports are supposed to be fun so if a player in the NFL rips off a 99 yard
01:52thing because he didn't always want to fall into the end zone or didn't want to fall into the end
01:55or whatever it might be he wants to have a triple instead of a home run I honestly don't care and I
01:59think it's kind of fun and if it creates more of a rivalry between the Phillies and the Braves or
02:04whatever it might be in the Cubs and the Brewers or some of our do that hypothetical that's what we
02:08should be seeing we want to see players achieve cool things and do things now if Trey Turner now is in
02:13this opportunity and the MLB decides to change the rules because he's gonna sidestep home play
02:18that's a different story
