00:00It's going to be headlined by a U.K. welterweight title fight
00:03between Conor Tierney and Danny Christie.
00:05Christie, the 40-year-old from the U.K., of course,
00:08former BKFC U.K. light heavyweight champ,
00:115-2 in his BKFC career.
00:13Both his losses to guys from Shift Combat Sports, of course,
00:16that is Dave Mundell and Jared Warren.
00:20So if you're not from that camp, you have had trouble beating this guy,
00:23and he continues to see if he can continue that streak
00:25after now going against a local guy, local to him,
00:29a guy you probably know as well, in Conor Tierney.
00:31Of course, this, as you said, welterweight.
00:33So after he decided to give up that belt light heavyweight,
00:36Christie has dropped down here to welterweight.
00:39Let's see what he can do here against Conor Tierney.
00:41He's had a couple fights here.
00:43Now he's going to fight the 30-year-old from the U.K.,
00:448-2 in the BKFC.
00:46His last fight was against Johnny Graham,
00:48where he beat him by United's decision last August.
00:50So he had a long layoff before that fight,
00:52where he talked about retooling himself and getting himself back
00:54into a better fighting shape and better mental space.
00:57Now it's been almost a year since we've seen him again.
01:00What has he been up to?
01:01You know, how good has he been?
01:02What has he worked on and gotten better at since then?
01:05If I'm looking at this one, I mean, it's hard for me to pick against either of these guys.
01:09They're both very good.
01:10They both show a lot of great things in the BKFC.
01:12But I got to lean towards Christie, even though he's about a decade older.
01:15You know, a guy who weighed that much and had that much success
01:17against tougher, bigger, stronger guys.
01:20Now he's been dropping down.
01:22And we saw, you know, even though he lost to Dave Mundell,
01:24it was a great fight.
01:26And he showed some grit.
01:27He showed how good he is against one of the best pound-for-pound in the BKFC,
01:30if not the best pound-for-pound.
01:32So while Contenius has had some good success against a bigger guy,
01:35he's going to be stronger on fight night,
01:36be able to push him around a little bit,
01:37I got to lean with Christie by TKO in that fight to take that UK title.
01:42Also at Light Heavyweight, you have Marley Churcher versus Anthony Holmes.
01:46Churcher's 3-3 in bare-knuckle fighting,
01:48but making his BKFC debut.
01:49Going against Holmes, a 40-year-old, the Yorkshire Gladiator,
01:535-2-1 in his bare-knuckle fighting career,
01:552-2 in the BKFC.
01:57He beat Wasserman by second-round TKO in November of 24.
02:00He lost back-to-back fourth-round TKO losses before that,
02:04back in 2023.
02:05So coming off a good rebound win.
02:07We'll see if he can get back into full form here,
02:09but a guy that is always exciting.
02:10Every one of his fights, he's got to be one that's going to not go the distance.
02:14So I don't expect this one to either.
02:16I'm going to go with Holmes.
02:17You know, again, the older fighter, probably a little more long in the tooth there,
02:22a little more beatings that he's taken over the years.
02:24But we've seen how tough he is.
02:26I don't know enough about Churcher to be leading on a guy that's just making his BKFC debut.
02:30Obviously, he has some success in some practice in other organizations,
02:35but as we know, it's a different animal sometimes when you make it up to the BKFC,
02:38even over the UK with that long history of great bare-knuckle fights.
02:42A lightweight, you have another name you know, James Lights Out Lily versus Fran Suarez.
02:47Suarez, the 39-year-old from Spain.
02:49Yvito Loca, the former glove boxer, now 0-1 in the BKFC after he lost to David Mora
02:55by fourth round TKO in October of 24.
02:58Going against Lights Out Lily, the 38-year-old from the UK,
03:01also known as the punching poet, 8-3-1 in bare-knuckle fighting,
03:053-3 in the BKFC.
03:07Had a meteoric rise, three wins in a row.
03:09Got to fight for the title against, of course, the champion at the time, Luis Palomino.
03:14Now he's lost three after that, after losing to Palomino.
03:16Then to Naglia by decision in April of 24.
03:19And by Maya by first round TKO in Spain in October of 24.
03:22So, you know, had fought two of the best in taking them to distance,
03:26but then now lost to Maya.
03:28I don't know if I believe in him right now.
03:30I mean, I'm sticking with him just because Suarez is not showing us much in the BKFC yet.
03:36And obviously Lily has a lot more experience,
03:37but if this was a fight two, three years ago, I'd go Lily in a heartbeat.
03:43Now I'm a little more tenuous in thinking he's going to go by decision
03:45instead of saying this guy's going to get the finish.
03:47We also have a light heavyweight battle between Jamie Cox and Charles Wasserman.
03:51Cox, BKFC debut for him.
03:53Wasserman, 1-2 in the BKFC.
03:54Won his first fight, then lost the last two.
03:57Third round TKO to Hodgson in April of 24.
04:00Second round KO to Holmes in November of 24.
04:02So, has had some problems with that chin holding up against some of the bigger names
04:05over in the UK for the BKFC.
04:07Wasserman's going to be three inches taller.
04:09So, he has that height, reach advantage, and try to keep his opponent at bay.
04:12But, you know what?
04:12Let's take a chance on this one.
04:14Let's go with Cox by TKO to win this fight.
