Go inside the UK's only cat and gaming house - where guests can pet and cuddle up with 16 cats.   Cavendish Cat & Gaming House, at Bispham, welcomes families and people with additional needs and says the mix of cats and gaming is like a 'safe haven' for guests, especially during gaming conventions at Norbreck Castle.  The house includes a large basement with a gaming room and home cinema - which has a retro arcade machine, X-box, PC and cinema projector for watching Netflix and movies.

00:00We're the only cat and gaming house in the UK and it's going all right. People like it.

00:07We started around three years ago now, just short of three years. We originally had like

00:14housemates before we turned it into a guest house but we wanted something new to do but we had 12

00:21cats beforehand so we needed to find out a way of telling the guests we have cats. So we thought

00:28let's just make it into a niche. Let's see if people like it and they did. Yeah. And how many cats have

00:35you got? 16 at the moment. We've got chilled ones. We've got crazy ones. We've got playful.

00:44There's a real mix but they're all loving. They're all really friendly. If you want the cats in your

00:49room, they will come in your room. If you don't want them in your room, you can just shut the door

00:53and they'll ponder around doing their own thing. But apart from the occasional 3am zoomy,

01:00it's nice and relaxed. We get a lot of older couples. We get younger couples. We get a lot

01:05of families. We get a lot of individuals with additional needs which is really special. The

01:11gaming aspect and the cats. It's like a perfect mix. We are north shore of Blackpool so near Norbrecht

01:17Castle and there's loads of conventions that are held there and we get a lot of people who come. We get a

01:23lot of people who travel from Germany, places like Amsterdam who will also come over for those

01:29conventions and they do like to stay here. So it's nice. How hard is it to keep the place

01:34clean with so many cats? Hours and hours a day. Hours of cleaning a day. But it's worth it. It's

01:42constant cleaning, constant fur removal. But we keep on top of it and it's good.
