00:00Obviously there's no Scotty Scheffler. There's no Rory McIlroy coming up this week in the
00:04Rocket Mortgage Classic, but plenty of name recognition. If you're a golf fan, you know,
00:09the favorite, the betting favorite on FanDuel to win this event, not by a wide margin is Colin
00:14Morikawa at 12 to one. So just that in and of itself, you don't have this like Scotty Scheffler
00:19plus 450 or something. You have Morikawa at 12 to one, Patrick Cantlay at 16 to one,
00:24Keegan Bradley, as people can see 18 to one. You also have Ben Griffin, Cam Young, Siwoo Kim,
00:30the list goes on, but you know, there, there are some names here at the top of the board
00:35who jumps out at you. Oh boy. A lot of names jump out at me, Adam, but they don't necessarily
00:41jump out in a positive way. I heard at the top there with your betting favorite, Colin Morikawa.
00:46He's announced this week again, that he's going to switch caddies, Joey Greiner, who was the former
00:51caddie for Maxwell after two months stint. He's out the door, um, a revolving door of change there
00:57of what seems like in the Colin Morikawa camp, as he tries to pull off a win for the first time
01:02since the fall of 2023, Patrick Cantlay, a guy who, you know, was a perennial top 10 in the world
01:08is now 20th in the world. I mean, these guys, not only, not only do they need a win, but they need
01:13Ryder cup points. They need all the above in order to be a part of where their careers have been over
01:18the last couple of years. I mean, you got to love Keegan. I mean, captain America gets the job
01:23done over, you know, another Fleetwood failure, you know, 42 top tens by Tommy Fleetwood, the poor
01:29guy. I mean, that camera angle that they showed on social media of him putting his head in his arm
01:33when Keegan made the final putt. I mean, it just breaks your heart. It didn't break my heart or my
01:38bank because I had Keegan at 35 to want it read the line, but I do feel bad for the guy because man,
01:43that's a lot of top tens and a lot of times coming close. And then, you know, the last guy there,
01:48Ben Griffin, he's probably the favorite or the best player right there on the book, on the betting
01:53odds board right there. I mean, two wins in the last couple of months, you know, he, he was 14th last
01:59week at the travelers tent at the U S open. He's playing very, very well. And he continues to play
02:04each and every week. So at the top of the board, not really sure about more what to make of Morikawa,
02:09but man, Ben Griffin, he sure looks good. So this event here, which of course begins early
02:16tomorrow morning, Eastern, uh, at the, uh, Detroit golf club, like you said, I mean, there are a lot
02:21of guys with a lot at stake and, uh, important, uh, motivations here with respect to the playoffs
02:28here in this tournament, which is why they're of course participating. That being said, who has,
02:32you know, is in, in the spirit of like course horses, for instance, and being able to really key
02:38in on strengths here at this particular venue, uh, who has an advantage? Well, I'll tell you what,
02:45I, you know, as a writer full-time, I, I love my alliteration, right? So I'm going to give you
02:49Keith's keys real quick. You know, the first thing is that you gotta be, you gotta be a great approach
02:54player, Adam, right? You know, more than 50% of the approach shots this week are going to come
02:58from inside 150 yards. That means it's a wedge fest. The second thing is, is that if you're going to hit
03:03them close and you're going to have nice proximity to the hole, you're going to have a ton of birdie
03:06chances, then you gotta be a good putter. The average winning score here in six editions of
03:11the rocket classic is 22 under par Vegas set the line this week for the winning score at 22 and a
03:16half under par. And the third thing is, is that you might as well let the shaft out because we're
03:21in the motor city. So hit drive because the longer players, the guys that can really hit driver and
03:26take advantage off the tee are some of the best that we are going to see this week near the top of
03:30the leaderboard. Cam Davis is one here twice, Bryson DeChambeau back in the day, Tony Finau. So as I
03:36looked at the board, those are the things that I'm favoring. Those are my keys. And that's why near
03:41the top of the board, my favorite favorite has got to be Cam Young. You know, last year he was
03:47sixth here a couple of years ago in 2022, he was runner up. You know, he's had two fourth place
03:51finishes on tour very recently and he, and he kind of fits that mold driver wedge and putter. Forget
03:57the fact that he's the number one putter in the field, but guess what? You know, this guy's from
04:01the Northeast, he's going to know those types of greens.
