00:00Bristol City have confirmed the signing of former Plymouth man Adam Randall ahead of the new championship season, with the fixtures for the coming campaign set to be released this week. Randall said he is delighted to be joining the club.
00:16I'm absolutely delighted for you. I'm really looking forward to being a part of the project and I just feel over the moon to finally get it done.
00:26You mentioned the project, what has it appealed to you about Bristol City?
00:29I think the aspirations of the club are very much aligned with mine. I think that they're building something here that I want to be involved in. They want to push to the next level and I really want to be involved and be a part of that.
00:43You spoke about pushing to the next level. You stepped up with Plymouth, getting promotion there and played 80 times in the championship, more than that over the last couple of years. How did you find that step up and how do you feel you can fit into this side?
00:54Yeah, it was tough, especially early on into the first few games of the championship. It was definitely a noticeable step up and I've done a lot of learning over the last couple of years and I'm looking forward to learning more and improving myself.
01:09And Bristol City's chairman John Lansdowne has made clear that new manager Gerhard Struber is the perfect fit for the club.
01:17Gerhard Struber was announced as the new head coach of Bristol City last week, with Lansdowne praising his ability as a coach.
01:23You touched upon it there. We've taken a view over a number of years. Academy-wise, we've been looking at playing in a more intense way, a more pressing way.
01:34So that's gone through how we develop players there, how we retain players, how we recruit.
01:39And you also look at what we've been doing in the first team. The last few windows you can see, as has been before, the age we're recruiting is getting younger as well.
01:48So for us, we've been moving towards this. Liam, you would have seen, developed on his journey, how we played when he started and how we were when we left.
01:58That intensity did improve. And for us, this is a logical step for us. Gerhard's got great experience in it.
02:04You can, I don't have to tell you the way it plays, you can see from the stats and the games itself.
02:08And as he said, it's a really good match and I'm really pleased we've managed to get it done.
