00:00Bristol City head coach Liam Manning has thanked players and staff for what was a memorable season for the Robins in which they finished in the playoffs but just missed out in the semi-finals.
00:10We did a meeting day one of pre-season I think in terms of what you see on a Saturday or a Friday or something whenever we play now.
00:18I think it's a combination of everybody's work from everybody behind the scenes, not just the coaches, the kitchen staff, the laundry staff, the media department.
00:30The medical guys, the stewards down the ground, everything that happens at 3 o'clock on a Saturday is a combination of that.
00:39Everybody's job is to get the players in the best place possible to be able to perform.
00:43I think I've said it in every single interview, couldn't be more proud in terms of what they've had to go through this season, the challenges they've faced,
00:51the battle they've faced to turn people's opinions and prove people wrong, surprise a few people.
00:57It takes real resilience, togetherness and courage to do that and you saw it last night.
01:02It's one of those last night, you go into the game knowing it's a real uphill challenge.
01:05The bit that you want to make sure is that you go down fighting, you leave everything out there and the lads certainly did that.
01:11And Bristol Rovers director of football Ricky Martin has said that Daryl Clark was always their number one choice for head coach.
01:18Yeah, it's been an eventful few weeks, obviously real disappointed at the end of the season to get relegated, but we needed to really just build on that moment to say,
01:32right, we'll rebuild starts now and absolutely delighted to have Daryl sitting next to me as our new head coach.
01:38Well, I think when we got to the end of the season, we had a really thorough football review.
01:42We reviewed all the football operations, that's all the data, that's all the key milestones of what's gone on in the season.
01:50And obviously to the eye, we could see that there's been lots of disappointment, but then when you need to then build about what do we need to take to rebuild the club
01:58and what do we need to take to help us going forward, we then put a process in place and we interviewed several candidates
02:05and I've got to say, Daryl's always our number one target and he came out on top in so many areas.
