Everton have announced that they will play Roma in the inaugural first-team game at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, August 9, with kick-off at 3 pm. This historic fixture will serve as the curtain-raiser to Everton’s first season at their 52,888-capacity home on the Mersey waterfront at Bramley-Moore Dock.

00:29partial events this year, including an under-18s match against Wigan on February 17th
00:35and an under-21s game versus Bolton Wunders on March 23rd, which ended early due to a planned evacuation.
00:43Roma, who share ownership with Everton under the Freaking Group following their takeover,
00:49announced in December 2024, were also Everton's opponents in their final friendly at Goodison Park
00:54during 1-1 on August 10th.
00:57Roma have experienced four head coaches in 2024 with Claudio Ranieri taking place
01:04and supporters will be encouraged to make the most of this historic day with the plaza opening at noon
01:11and offering live entertainment and a wide selection of food and drink options available before kick-off.
01:19Everton's long-standing history at Goodison Park, England's first purpose-built football ground
01:24and the venue with the most top-flight matches spanned 133 years before the move.
