00:09Man to appear in court after armed police locked down Edinburgh Street.
00:14A 46-year-old man is due to appear at the Edinburgh Sheriff Court today following a disturbance in the south of the city.
00:21At around 9am on Saturday, June 21st, armed police and specialist officers were called to a report of a disturbance at a property on St Leonard Street.
00:28A police cordon was put in place and a 46-year-old man was later arrested and charged.
00:41An Edinburgh landlord who pled guilty to running unregistered lets and unlicensed HMOs has been given homeless housing contracts by the council worth almost £8 million.
00:50William Lenny, 72, is a director and the primary shareholder of Phoenix Properties Edinburgh Limited, which was granted two homeless housing contracts in May.
01:01A councillor has struck out at the contract awards, saying the city has serious questions to answer.

01:18Grass-roofed bus shelters are being created in West Lothian as part of a five-year drive to create a more biodiverse landscape.
01:25The scheme grasses over flat shelter roofs and adds a natural green island into otherwise urban landscapes, as well as encouraging flora and fauna.
01:32The bus shelters have already been introduced to Winchborough, with grassed roofs which hopefully by the end of the summer will provide a verdant canopy under which travellers can wait for public transport.
01:43Tom Conn, the chairman of the Environment and Sustainability PDSP, called it an innovation of how we can coexist with nature.
