00:09Man found unresponsive on Prince's Street.

00:12Police were called to the Edinburgh City Centre on Wednesday morning following a report of an unresponsive man on Prince's Street.

00:19Emergency services attended, but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

00:23His death is being treated as unexplained, and police are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances.

00:30Edinburgh Councillor calls for swift road safety action after pensioner hospitalised.

00:35Action on a dangerous Edinburgh road is welcome, but needs to be taken more quickly, according to a city councillor.

00:41Early last month, an 80-year-old woman was hospitalised after she was struck by a black BMW on Ashley Terrace,

00:48an area where traffic campaigners have long said speed reduction measures need to be put in place.

00:52The council carried out a traffic survey on the road,

00:54and said new crossings and road modifications should be complete by the end of the financial year.

01:00Conservative councillor Christopher Cowdy, who represents the Fountainbridge and Craig Lockhart ward,

01:05said the action was welcome, but should happen sooner.

01:18The Lothian Road Cinema will open on Friday June 27th, after a £2 million refurbishment,

01:25with works including a reworked foyer space, refurbished bar, and extra legroom for visitors across its three screens.
