Australians prepare to flee Middle East in anticipation of escalating conflict

Many Australians are trying to evacuate the Middle East amid fears about the escalating conflict.

00:00Well, even though these Iranian missile barrages continue to send millions scrambling for shelters

00:07at all times of the day and night, the phrase that is repeatedly uttered to us is that Iran

00:12poses an existential threat to the state and to the people of Israel.

00:16And therefore, this action by the Israeli military, which has now been joined in a currently

00:21limited capacity by the United States, is a good thing.

00:25It is taking out a threat to these people.

00:28Regardless of that, of course, this has been a dramatic escalation in the tensions here

00:33in the Middle East, and Israel is showing very little sign of pulling back from some of its

00:38military campaign, its military offensive in Iran.

00:41In the last couple of hours, we have heard that six airports across the country have been

00:46targeted by the Israeli Air Force.

00:48There is no word at this stage as to what casualties there have been inside Iran.

00:53That information is very hard to come by, but it is something that many will be watching

00:57very, very closely as this situation potentially deteriorates even further.
