00:00I'm fighting as much as I can.
00:02There's so much about it that's out of my control.
00:06That's Eric in a new photo looking casual and confident in gym clothes, the 52-year-old
00:11who has lost control of his right arm, spotted walking and holding hands with a companion
00:16in Beverly Hills.
00:17I feel like maybe a couple few more months and I won't have my left hand either.
00:25The actor is hopeful, telling GMA he's in a research study and taking medication to
00:30slow the progression of ALS.
00:32Are you willing to try anything?
00:34I will fly to Germany and eat the head off a rattlesnake if that would help.
00:39The diagnosis hasn't stopped Eric from working.
00:42Here is a timeline.
00:43I started experiencing some weakness in my right hand.
00:49He first experienced symptoms around January of 2024.
00:53Nine months later, Eric started filming Countdown.
00:56So this is the bullpen.
00:57ET was on set of the Prime Video Crime series, which premieres June 25th.
01:02Our mission could prevent another 9-11.
01:04Just weeks after Countdown wrapped, he began filming season three of Euphoria, which is
01:09still shooting.
01:10Walk in here with your head held high.
01:12It's a very interesting character and very complex and I have a great time playing it,
01:17as weird as it is.
01:19Early ALS symptoms can include weakness in the hand or foot, twitching in the tongue,
01:24and slow or slurred speech.
01:26Everybody's worried about plastics for neurodegenerative diseases, you know, Alzheimer's as well as ALS.
01:33We worry about head trauma because we do see ALS more common in certain sports, football or soccer.
01:39We worry about pesticides as well.
01:41I mean, I really, at the end of the day, just all I want to do is spend time with my family
01:47and work a little bit if I can.
