Was there "tension" between Devers and #RedSox player(s)?
Where will Devers be playing mostly in San Francisco? Devers (via translator): "Like I said before, I am here to play wherever they want me to do"

00:00Let's start with Alex Cora. Before the game yesterday, he was asked about the report
00:04about there being tension between Devers and Christian Campbell because Christian
00:09Campbell had volunteered to play first base. Here was Cora's response to that.
00:14Christian Campbell didn't ask to play first base. I talked to him about it and he was willing to try
00:19it. So there was that tension between them? The first time I heard about that was this morning.
00:26Yeah, I don't know what's true or what's not true. I don't know that the story was that he had
00:35gone running up to Alex Cora and said, please let me play first. It was more like if it had come up
00:44that he had put his hand up and said, yeah, I'll do it. I don't know. Right. I'll give it a shot,
00:48coach. I have no idea. I just feel like you have to... June Lee seems to be right about everything
00:53else. So why would this one thing be wrong? So I think you just have to kind of take it all as
00:58probably truth. Yeah. Well, now we can hear from Rafael Devers. He was introduced as the newest San
01:04Francisco Giant and he seems pretty open about doing whatever the team needs him to do. Here was
01:10the press conference with Rafael Devers. Do you have a preference though? Do you feel like you are
01:16best at a particular position? Like I said before, I am here to play wherever they want me to do and
01:25give out my best. Times, probably the weather in San Francisco, a little easier to take a few
01:32innings at first base or third base or whatever. And the treatment of players because was it the GM
01:37that was on when they, uh, maybe the day before Devers went out there and basically said,
01:43we are a player's organization. So we'll talk to Devers if that's something that he...
01:50Yeah, it was a Buster Posey or whatever. No, it wasn't that guy. It was the other guy. So
01:53everyone's on the neat Buster Posey. I forgot his name. He was doing like a zoom. He said, you know,
01:57we'll talk to him and see what he wants to do, but we are a player's first organization. So we get the
02:03input of our players on what they want to do. And we've learned from talking to Middlebrooks,
02:10um, that baseball players are very like weird when it comes to them moving other positions and
02:16stuff like that. So that's why I give 60% of the blame to the organization for not handling this
02:22in the right way in the beginning. And honestly, like just the... Can we just go back on that? Sorry,
02:27Curtis. What were they supposed to do? Who, the organization? Yes. They were supposed to pick up the
02:33phone and say, Raph, here's what we're thinking about doing. We're thinking about signing Bregman.
02:39And if we do, we want him to play third base. Okay. And then if, and if he didn't agree with it,
02:45then they don't sign Alex. No, no. If he doesn't agree with it, then they, they, they try to say,
02:51listen, this is what we're, are you willing to compromise and be a DH? Are you willing to compromise
02:56and, you know, take some ground balls and maybe be a backup first base?
