00:00Thunder beat the Pacers 120-109 last night. They take a 3-2 series lead in the NBA Finals.
00:07As we said, it got to two about midway through the fourth quarter, but then after that,
00:12it was all Thunder, ABC ESPN.
00:16On the drive, kicks it out, Williams. Williams to the rack, high off the glass, it's good!
00:22He did it again!
00:23That was the elbow step back. The other one was the soft kisses when he drove
00:51and sent it high off the glass with nothing on it, and it came down all ginger.
00:57And then Dort's three was his third, so there was the hit on that prop.
01:02So, listen, they just took over the game, and the Pacers handed it to them.
01:11It's inexplicable. The turnovers in that last seven minutes were disgusting.
01:16Like, I don't even know how you live with yourself.
01:21The turnovers were so bad and so egregious that turned a two-point game into a disaster
01:28in a matter of, like, two minutes.
01:31And then, listen, I got to say it.
01:33Like, I don't deny that Shea Gilgis is the man and MVP and everything else,
01:39but for my money, the reason why they're going to win the NBA championship is J-Dub.
01:46He's taken over the games.
01:48He's literally scored 27-plus in three straight.
01:51He had 40 last night.
01:52And, you know, your boy had 31, Shea, and even he knew it.
01:58Like, there was, like, that guy, every time he touched the ball, Mike,
02:01he went to find a shot, and he got it.
02:04Like, he went to finish, and he did everything.
02:08He went inside.
02:09He went elbow.
02:10He was outside.
02:11He was everywhere scoring at every trick in the bag.
02:16And I think he's the reason, to be honest with you, that they're going to win it.
02:22And I think Shea was just his normal self.
02:25What I thought was extraordinary was J-Dub in the last three games.
02:28And so, what, they win game four, and then they won game five.
02:34So, they lost game three, but he still had a huge game that night.
02:39He's been their best player.
02:41No one wants to admit it because they give everything to Shea Gilgis, and that's it.
02:46They just – everything is his.
02:47Like, they're going to give him the MVP.
02:49They're going to give him, you know, all this.
02:51I'm talking finals MVP, league MVP.
02:54He's going to have all the trophies and hardwares.
02:56But I think this kid, J-Dub, is – I don't think he's better, but I think he's played better.
03:04I think he's been the most significant guy.
03:07You know what?
03:07The Pacers have not been able to stop him.
03:10That's their problem.
03:12And then, I think for the Thunder, they haven't been able to stop Siakam.
03:16They have not been able to do that either.
03:18Williams, his 40 points was a career high last night.
03:22He's the fifth player over the last 40 years to have 25-plus points in three straight NBA Finals games all before the young age of 25.
03:34He's only the fifth.
03:35The other four are pretty good names.
03:37Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Dwayne Wade, and Shaq.
03:40That's some pretty good company you join in NBA Finals lore if you're Jalen Williams.
03:45Of course, afterwards, he did what most of the Thunder usually do.
03:48They give their credit to the rest of their teammates.
03:51I'm just blessed to be in a situation where everybody wants everybody to succeed.
03:56It's such a rare thing.
03:59I think it's even more rare that we're playing the Pacers who, just looking on the outside, are kind of that way, too.
04:04You see how close-knit they are.
04:07But, yeah, I'm just in a really, really good situation.
04:09It's allowed me to grow as a player at a more rapid rate because I'm not worried about, like, what if I fail?
04:15I have guys that I know are going to pick me up when I fall short, and I try and do the same thing for them.
04:20So, I think our team's chemistry has got us here.
04:23It's something that's kept us strong.
04:25And, yeah, it's just a fortunate situation that I get to be in.
04:29Yeah, I mean, this kid's come a long way from the high desert of Arizona to Santa Clara to the NBA to – he's literally on the verge of stardom.
04:43I think that he's not a superstar yet.
04:45Nobody knows him yet.
04:48But real pure basketball fans know who he is.
04:52People that watch the league every night know who he is.
04:55I don't think anybody else knows who he is yet.
04:57But they will because I think he's turning into a star.
05:01I don't think he's a superstar yet.
05:03I think he's a great player that's on the verge of just right now in this finals breaking out in a big way.
05:09He's going to get a lot of money at the end of the day when it's all said and done.
05:13He's turned into a hell of a player.
05:14I think he's very long.
05:16I mean, this guy's got arms that go down to the ground.
05:20Literally, his arms go to his ankles.
05:22I mean, Gabe talked about how they defend.
05:25This guy can do so much with his length.
05:29He's an airplane.
05:30He can literally spread his arms and touch one end of the court to the other.
05:35And he's been amazing to watch what he's done in these games.
05:38Amazing.
