00:00Here is head coach Rick Carlisle on the comeback.
00:02Just had to hang in.
00:05The first half was rough.
00:1019 turnovers.
00:11The good thing was it was only nine points.
00:13And so, you know, we were within reach of still being in the game.
00:19I think we won the third quarter by three, which was progress.
00:24And then, you know, they went up 15.
00:26And we just said, hey, let's just keep chipping away at the rock.
00:31You know, got to keep pounding the rock, you know, and just chip away and hang in.
00:36And we've had a lot of experience in these kinds of games.
00:40And our guys have a real good feel for what it's all about, giving ourselves a chance.
00:49And we got fortunate, but made plays.
00:53So, look, I'm going to say this.
00:56I thought one of the reasons for me that they lost was I thought J-Dub was bad and he just kept shooting.
01:05You know, they'd shoot or shoot, shoot your way out of it, all this other nonsense.
01:10When you don't have it, you don't have it, right?
01:12Like, I've always believed, like, you know, rebound and make some passes.
01:16Set some screens if you're not hitting.
01:19Meanwhile, this guy's chucking left and right.
01:21Six of 19.
01:23He just kept chucking and missing.
01:25One of four from downtown.
01:26He was awful.
01:28Abe Lincoln was awful.
01:30Six points.
01:32Two of nine from the floor.
01:33O of one from downtown.
01:34He was awful.
01:36Wallace was three of nine from the floor.
01:38He was awful.
01:40I mean, let's just face facts.
01:43Nobody did anything.
01:44I mean, Caruso had 11, six and two, but he was three of eight.
01:50He was shooting bricks.
01:51I mean, they were shooting bricks all night.
01:53They were up 15.
01:55They should have been up 30.
01:56They had, you know, if you look at this team, when they have 25 turnovers, they turn that into 60, 70 points.
02:04But last night, they just went down and missed.
02:08They just kept missing.
02:10And so, I think that explains it for me as a basketball guy.
02:13Like, I'm watching a game going, this guy, J-Dub.
02:17So, they call him, you know, Jalen Williams is J-Dub.
02:21And then the other one is J-Will, the dude that's the big center that's ugly.
02:25So, here's the deal.
02:27I'm watching a game going, this guy's missing every shot he's taking.
02:30He just keeps chucking.
02:32Like, at some point, like, I've always believed, like, if you're missing that many from outside or even in mid-range, you got to go to the rack.
02:41You got to get inside.
02:43You got to get fouled.
02:44He did none of that.
02:45And I think he actually, I'm going to say it, I think he cost him the game.
02:49Like, because he's a star player that averages, you know, he's in there.
02:53This guy, Shea Gilgis, will have 35, 40 points.
02:56The other guy will have 25, 28, 30 points, right?
02:59Last night, that 17, I think he had, right, 17?
03:04That was the ugliest 17 I ever saw that guy have.
03:07I thought he played terrible.
03:08It's that simple.
03:09You can't have all your star players missing every shot they take.
03:14SGA with 38 points in the loss.
03:17Didn't matter.
03:17As you just mentioned, he held up his end.
03:19It didn't matter.
03:19They got to be better, he says.
03:21Yeah, we just got to focus on being better.
03:24The series isn't first to one, it's first to four.
03:27So we have four more games to get.
03:29They have three.
03:30And that's just where we are.
03:31We got to understand that.
03:32And we got to get to four before they get to three if we want to win the NBA championship.
03:36And it's that simple.
03:37It's not rocket science.
03:38We lost game one.
03:41We have to be better.
03:44You said it, Bass.
03:45Denver beat them in game one.
03:47They still beat them.
03:49You know, we've already heard.
03:51But in game two, they won by like 49 points.
03:54So let's see what happens Sunday.
03:56That's why it's 11 and a half, because they're probably going to spank them.
04:00And I got to tell you, I don't think you'll see J-Dub and Abe Lincoln, you know, also known
04:07as Chad Holmgren.
04:08And I don't think you'll see those guys, even Wallace, because I thought Dort played well.
04:13He hit five threes, right?
04:15So he had 15.
04:16He hit every shot he took.
04:18He was five of nine from, you know, all of his points were threes.
04:22They just have to get these guys hitting some shots to get their confidence back.
04:26If they shoot poorly again Sunday, they may never recover in the whole series.
04:31I mean it, like once you start losing your shot, you start thinking, oh my God, I can't
04:37hit the broad side of a barn.
