00:00our start here today. Well Chance Imus, you know what you have to do here. You get the start,
00:05you have the speed to run up front, and you could very well win this second moto,
00:09but it has to happen right here. You've got to get the jump. Getting off the gate slowly last
00:15time hindered every chance you had in that first moto, so your success is dependent off the start.
00:20You got Hayden Deegan, you got nine overall wins for your career. You got 18 moto wins,
00:31including this one. Let's make it 19 today and make it 10 overall. So look, all these guys,
00:35they talk about starts, but you know me, I don't need one to get another victory. Let's
00:40see if I can get it done today for Father's Day. Fly Racing, 30-second board is up, so
00:46last year it was the come-from-behind battles for Deegan. One, the first moto didn't get
00:52it in moto two, hoping to make his life a little easier in 2025, and it will all come down to
00:58this start. Let's go, moto two from high point. Oh, not as good for Deegan this time.
01:16And it's Tom Bial off to the early lead. Another great start for Nate Thrasher and
01:22Hamaker's... Oh, wait a minute. Where did Deegan come from? He got to the inside around
01:26Himes, Hamaker, and to the lead. But that was a nice save by Tom Bial. He's losing the front end.
01:33Looked like Chance Himes got a better start. It was Michael Moseman that went down off the
01:36start, so tough break for him. He's got a long ways to go, but look at that. As quickly as
01:40Hayden Deegan wasn't there, he was there, and now he's out front where these guys are going to have
01:44to chase him down again. But Chance Himes has moved up into that third position. Good start.
01:49Himes' chance to show what he's got. Also, look at Kitchen making moves on the green
01:53Kawasaki back there. Said he needed to work on the early race intensity. He's passing
01:57riders in bunches. Himes going after Bial. Yeah, Chance knows he's got to take a chance
02:03to get around Tom Bial at this moment because you don't want the Hayden Deegan to try to run
02:08away. And Hayden looks really comfortable in this racetrack. So does Chance, but Hayden's got
02:12that confidence in his second moto. This is where he shines. Let's see what chance he's
02:16got today to bring the heat. And for Bial, it's been subpar off the podium the last couple
02:21of motos. It's his chance to make up for it with a good start. Yeah, as you mentioned earlier,
02:27we kind of looked at him as a title threat. So we're starting to overlook him. And that's
02:31right. No disrespect to Tom Bial, but it's not been the year he won it. So let's see if
02:36he can rebound. A start is going to help him. This is close. He's been to Hayden for a while,
02:40but he's got his hands full with the number 10. Look at that move right there, baby. That
02:45was a nice pass. Roll speed all day long. Chance Himes. Keys to the moto there. Himes up
02:50to second. It's the battle we anticipated at the beginning of the day. Deegan versus Himes.
02:55They're 1-2 on lap one. Yeah, let's see how this thing plays out. You know, and I think
03:00now Hayden to look back, see the motivation from Chance Himes. And I think you're going to
03:04see the best of Hayden Deegan. Chance Himes is going to have to be the best version of himself
03:08to keep him in there. I think we've got a race, folks, if they can keep it going.
03:14Ooh, it threw a little bit of water on that. Chance slid out.
03:18Casey Cochran making moves here. The rock star, Gaskas. He is now up to fourth ahead of Shimoda.
03:25And I'm not sure what happened. Kitchen was the rider on the move at first. No longer in
03:30this group. Yeah, something must have happened. I don't know if he had a little bit of help
03:34by somebody. But yeah, nice to see Casey. He's been riding good all year long. We've been
03:38mentioning his name pretty much every moto. So good to see him back up front. Joe Shimoda
03:42had those four second place, four motos in a row. So let's see if he can get back up as well
03:48to get back on that podium. And Julian Beaumere, that is a couple of motos in a row now that we've
03:54seen him hit the ground. Yeah, when you saw Chance Hymus come around that corner and lose it,
04:01as I said, that was a nice save by him. I believe Julian probably did the same thing.
04:05And we have the crash.
04:09Whoa. Yeah, we caught the end of it, JT.
04:12Yeah, it's exactly the same thing, Chance Hymus. Levi Kitchen almost did the same thing,
04:17and Beaumere was the one that actually went down. They watered the face of that jump,
04:21and you could see that scoop tire, their rear tire step out. There's just literally no traction.
04:25That tire does not have much edge grip. Spun out, and he just high-sided right over the top.
04:30And then in the replay, you saw what happened to Kitchen right into the rear wheel of Cochran,
04:34so that's why he lost so much ground. Cochran looking to do damage of a different kind right
04:39now as he's battling Shimoda. Yeah, well, Joe's been riding really good, so not surprising him able
04:44to get around Casey as Joe now sets his sight on Tom Biao for third place. But Casey's still doing
04:50good. He needs to just catch that toe, find that flow out there, see if Joe can move his way up,
04:55because clearly he has the speed to build a realm with these guys.
04:58And Thrasher will come through next. There's Swole, Hamaker, Harrop, Marchbanks in 10th.
05:04There's more on Shimoda. Katie?
05:05Well, the team was telling me that a second and a second was pretty good, but a sixth there in
05:09Thunder Valley was obviously not what they were hoping for. It turned out that Joe Shimoda had the
05:14speed, and they knew it, and they knew that they had that confidence. It was the start that we needed to
05:19see out of him. And in fact, we saw that in the first moto, Joe making his way back through the
05:24pack. And right now, Joe being up and forth, the team is saying, watch out, he's been dangerous
05:28right now with that speed level. Yeah, and Katie, to that end, another bad start of the first moto,
05:34but boy, did he come through even with a crash? And a little bit closer to the front early in this
05:39one on the Honda HRC Progressive Machine. Yeah, now if we drop back in the pack, now we're getting back
05:44towards, I believe that's Seth Handmaker, which was able to get third in the first moto. So not
05:49the best of the starts, but the only problem for Joe is that I would say the two fastest guys,
05:54maybe, or at least same pace, is ahead of him at about four or five seconds. So he's got a lot
05:59of work to do to be able to close that gap. And as I mentioned earlier, when you look at the lap
06:03times in between Hayden Deegan and Chance Hymas, I felt like Hayden, once he looked back and saw
06:07Chance, he was really going to bring the best version of himself. And these two are really starting to go
06:11at it. It'd be a great race. Yeah, we saw them pull huge leads last week. This battle you're
06:16watching is Thrasher up at the top, then Swole, then Handmaker, and then Harrop there on that 107
06:25as well. Yeah, if I'm the guys down in Jalik's team, you know, at the Triumph, I'm pretty happy
06:32with him because just him coming back up and him knowing him being hurt, still a great ride
06:36for number 22 Chad. I mean, Jalik Swole here. Jalik coming back from an Achilles injury first
06:43race this season. While this battle rages, let's get an update from Katie on Bomer. Yeah,
06:48the number 23 of Julian Bomer. This is one of those tracks he said he really liked until what
06:53happened just in that moto. He crashed over here actually by the spotters in the pits and
06:58turns out something hit his face. He had blood coming out of his mouth, out of his nose, and
07:02is going to go get himself checked out. Oh, man, it has come undone for Bomer. He was
07:06very good at the first two rounds of the series. A little out of laps even at the opener. Fox
07:11Raceway. Handmaker making moves here. Yeah, I like to see Seth move up. He's going to charge
07:19down his heel and having a hurt shoulder. That's pretty impressive to be able to do that. And
07:23yeah, it's easy for these guys to make those mistakes early in the race. And you will wonder
07:26like, well, they just had a parade lap. But the thing is, once that gate drops, you forget
07:31about all that. And JT's, you know, halftime report talking about roosts. These guys are
07:35getting roosted. They start turning to hit. And it's easy how shiny that part is where
07:39actually Julian crashed. It's easy for that to happen. And it's a high speed section. So
07:44bummer for him. But nice to see him ride off the track. This is March Banks and Kitchen
07:48ninth and tenth. So unfortunately, it ends up being the same story. These two have speed,
07:54but they had to do it from the back of the top ten. Kitchen got around fourth or fifth there
07:59on that first lap until he bumped Cochran. So it looked like he had a bad start. The
08:03start wasn't actually as bad as it appears. It's a good fight between the teammates, though.
08:09Yeah, they're all there. They're teammate on teammate crown right here. And I love
08:12Garrett March Banks' riding style. We talked about this in Race Day Live, just the way he
08:17rides a motorcycle. He looks like a hula-hoo dancer. A hula-dancer. The way his body moves,
08:21his head stays straight. So if he can continue this thing going, just got to get better starts
08:26as Levi makes the pass on Nate Thrasher. Yeah. Same story for Thrasher in both
08:33motos. Good start. And then starting to drift back. But he's in rebuild mode. 18th was his
08:38season-best moto finish before today for Thrasher. Now it's Swole under pressure from Kitchen.
08:48Yeah, it was two laps in a row. It looked like Jaleek was overjumping that big Moss Energy triple
08:53jump. But what he's doing, he's actually landing at the bottom of that. So it's a lot smoother
08:57because his bike is rebounding one time instead of coming up a little bit short. So it's like
09:01he's overjumping that. But it's working out. Katie?
09:06Yeah, it's working out for him. And of course, as we've talked all day, his Achilles injury
09:09that he had and how he's back on the bike a bit earlier. Well, he told me that he texted
09:13Eli Tomac after his injury to kind of get some insights from him about the injury itself,
09:19the do's, the don'ts, what to do. And he said he was so surprised that he texted him back.
09:24And I asked, what were some of the specifics? And he said, really, it was just more encouragement
09:28at that point in time to get back on the bike. As you see him go off a little bit there,
09:31get back on the bike, be positive and know that it will come to an end at some point in time.
09:37Cool? Yeah, no, that's really cool. And it just shows you what kind of person Eli is. I mean,
09:41I think being a father kind of helping, helping, you know, these young kids up. And Jalik's a good
09:46guy. I mean, a lot of guys like him in the pit. He's a hardworking. And anytime, any one of these
09:52riders, we all are brotherhood out here. So we want to look out for each other. So really cool about
09:56him. He needs some advice to be able to keep these teammates behind him as well. Garrett Marchbank's
10:00going out there. But still, Jalik can come out of here just finishing his race. It's a good day.
10:05It's a win-win for him. Yeah, then he gets to build the weekend off before the next race at Southwick.
10:10Marchbank's looking to march by. But that outside line didn't work. He's going to try this one.
10:18Running that crown molding around the outside. Yeah, that tunnel jump. We've got to pay attention
10:23to that, especially as this race goes on in that 450. He's getting a gnarly rut up on there. And
10:27when these guys using that paddle tire, as JT was mentioning, you've got to start worrying about
10:31some of these guys spinning out. Tough section moving forward as this race goes on. Yeah, that
10:36paddle tire situation. That primarily designed for the softer terrain. So yeah, what happens
10:41when you get out of that harder stuff? Yeah, I mean, essentially, it's like trying to ride
10:44with knobbies on a freeway. You know, the bike's just spinning up or, you know, roller skate
10:49on, you know, roller skating. And the thing just starts to spin. And if it's not straight up
10:53and down or in some loose stuff, it just spins out because it's the size difference between
10:59the two different knobbies and stuff. So for these guys, it's one of those things that
11:02you probably ride with all week long. And like I said, at home, you're focused in it. And
11:07when you're not racing other people, you can go to those outside lines. But trying to make
11:11passes where it's difficult as Garrett makes his way around Jalik. But again, we all dealing
11:17with it. They'll figure it out. They just got to make sure they don't get caught out in
11:20these hard, slippery stuff. Up front, Deegan has stretched the lead to four seconds over
11:26Hymas. Still Bial in third. Hamaker and Kitchen. Hamaker bringing some heat here.
11:32Yeah, no, we saw this in the first moto. Levi was able to get the best of his teammates.
11:36So Seth is trying to return the favor. Hometown brings him back. You know, it feels good here.
11:41And I think for him, just the confidence to build a role with, you know, his teammate,
11:46which has got a podium. And then there's another teammate, Garrett Marshpane,
11:49coming in here. We've got to excuse us if we're talking about we call the riders wrong
11:54names and stuff because they're all in here. Just say the whole Pro Circuit team got out
11:58here. This is all season. We've had these two or three rider packs of Monster Pro Circuit
12:04Kawasaki riders. It has happened again. Sixth, seventh, and eighth.
12:10Quickly, as Seth was all over Levi, he's got to worry about his other teammate, Garrett
12:15Marshpane, getting around him. So this is that section I was saying. It's starting to get
12:19difficult for these guys. I don't know if Levi was able to actually get over that jump.
12:24Oh, Joe Shimoda has caught Tom Villal for third. Villal has not had a podium in a moto
12:29since moto two at the opener at Pala. And he's barely hanging on to it right now at high point.
12:35Yeah, Joe was trying to get there, but that's another off-camera corner that eventually was
12:41going to run into each other. So Joe has obviously closed it. He's got the pace. He's got to be calm
12:45and try to not slow each other down because I do feel like now that gap in the lead is starting to
12:51open it up. Chance might start racing behind him. So if Joe can get around Tom Villal, maybe he has a
12:56chance to get on the podium or at least second place, get to his teammate if he doesn't get stalled out
13:00too much. You look at the overall points there on the bottom left. It's all up for grabs. That
13:05third place spot on the podium. Villal Kitchen, maybe even Heimaker has a shot at it. And in the
13:12250 close. Oh, Joe went down. Oh man, that was a tough one. And that's where they were trying to
13:17get some of that mud off. And you can see those guys, they fixed that track, but his bike bottoms
13:22out because all the water goes off the racetrack right there. So it becomes a big pothole. And Joe
13:26lost that rear end thing kicked out and then it hooked up and he went down. So good to see him
13:31back up. But that could have been a lot worse than what it was. Now, how hard is it to get back in
13:37that rhythm, that race pace and all that stuff when an event like that happens? I mean, it's really
13:41hard, especially when you're Joe, you know, you're looking at I'm on the podium and having last
13:46weekend, not the best one, trying to return back even the first motor, not the best one. So
13:50it's going to be harder for him because he belongs up front where he feels like it. So
13:55easy to make that mistake and easy to make another mistake as Seth Handmaker did that a few weeks
14:00ago. So he just needs to keep his composure, do what he did that first motor, regroup. He makes
14:05it this lap, then I think he'll start charging his way back up front. But it's easy to go a little
14:09erratic afterwards. Right in front of him, Ryder DeFrancisco, who had a rough goal in the first
14:16moto, battling just to even be top 20 this time around. He is in ninth. Shimoda, 10th. Yeah,
14:24you saw Joe duck his head right there. That's the roost is really bad in that mechanics there. It's
14:30one of the areas on the track where that clay gets packed in and it's like getting shot with
14:34a BB gun the whole time. So see Joe shaking his head or ducking his head, excuse me. And
14:40then Dylan Schwartz behind them. This is right where you normally find Schwartz, right around
14:45that 9, 10, 11 spot. Further up ahead is Kitchen, who has dealt with his teammate Handmaker. We might
14:53have a Kitchen and Marchbanks battle now. Nah, Garrett got around both those guys. Oh yeah, he's pulling
14:57away. Yeah, he's got in front of him. He's trying to go out to Casey Cochran. So nice move by Garrett
15:03getting around both his teammates who were moving forward. I'll tell you what, Marchbanks only has a
15:10one-year deal with Pro Circuit. His deal's up at the end of this season. So he is showing either
15:16that team, hey, you want to bring me back? Or other teams might want to add a spot because he's
15:22been riding so well to start the year. Marchbanks third in points coming into this race. And with
15:27that pass, Kitchen has actually been bumped back off the podium. It would still be VL third overall.
15:34Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of racing left. And for sure, that's the best way to get a ride. You
15:41know how Mitch Payton, he's all about results. He don't care about the name. If you're out here
15:45putting in effort, really his number one goal is just continue to put in effort. And Garrett's been
15:49showing that all these guys have been for his racing team. But if you can have the best results
15:53out of all your teammates, then move on out of the way. This is my spot.
15:59I'm talking about those starts at Marchbanks. Seven out of the eight motos this season, he
16:03has started outside the top ten on lap one. And working his way forward again. He's in
16:11fifth. Casey Cochran. This is not a fluke. He's still riding well in fourth. Seen this
16:18the last couple weeks. As for Marchbanks in those starts, we asked him for a progress report
16:22yesterday. We've been working on clutch stuff. Just we're trying a little bit of
16:27everything to try to help get me off the gate a little better. I can't really blame a lot
16:32on my weight. You know, there's been some heavy guys that have gotten good starts. But yeah,
16:37I mean, a lot of people told me to lose some weight. But for me, I'm honestly not even that
16:41heavy. And also like we've noticed through the years, like the more I've cut weight, the less
16:48I could really push through my motos. So I'm kind of in a good stage of where I want to be.
16:52So now I think for me, it's just, you know, executing the starts and being more consistent.
16:56So I'm not coming from 15th, 20th every moto.
17:00Well, a little better than that this time, but still not great. This is great, though. Pass made.
17:05Marchbanks up to fourth.
17:07Yeah, you're talking about finding a rhythm. I think Garrett's got that rhythm. And, you know,
17:11telling Garrett, look at me, you lose weight. No, you lose weight, you know. So, you know,
17:15those riders know. And I think the biggest thing when you're a little bit bigger or taller
17:19rider like Garrett, the one thing that helps you off the star has been having a good reaction time.
17:24I think if you're a little bit bigger, if you don't have a good reaction time, you don't have
17:28that. You can't rely on the bike's power because maybe you are a little bit heavier. So I don't
17:33think he's clearly, if he got good reaction time, he can whole shot it. So I don't think it's a
17:37power thing. I think he just has to be better on that part and, you know, help him out.
17:42Halfway through this moto, a reminder, Monster Energy available at BFS Foods. Man, Joe Shimoda,
17:49he's been fighting all day long. Both motos, Crash Shimoda 1, Crash Shimoda 2, caught back up to
17:55Swole now. Yeah, if we had the RC Hard Charger Award, it might go to him or Garrett. Austin Fortner
18:02out. Yeah, so it's Swole and Hamaker just ahead of Shimoda. So the race has come back to Hamaker,
18:10maybe that shoulder getting to him. Yeah, not surprising. He's been off the bike. He missed
18:14last weekend. So, you know, these guys are going to have to deal with that race pace. But
18:19still, with Jalik right here, still having a good thing. I mean, even the same thing with
18:23Seth Hamaker. It's been a good day. So continue that going, JT. Yeah, James, you're so right
18:28of that for Swole. You're riding, what, two and a half weeks? And to come out here and be
18:33like, this is one of the best motocross rides that Triumph has had, period, in 2025. And this
18:39is right out of the gate. So if this is where he's starting from, just the base, imagine where
18:45he's going to be, give him a few weeks under his belt. So just a wildly impressive comeback
18:49here from Swole. Yeah, no, I completely agree. I mean, and he's still fighting. I mean,
18:54you see Seth right there, who almost won our Supercross championship, you know, the East
18:59Coast. So for him, this is a big confidence builder. And if he starts fading at this moment,
19:04it's inspected. You hear all the riders talk about how difficult this racetrack is. So
19:08it's no slouch. Jalik's doing a great job out there. And I love the fight from the kid.
19:12Still out here trying to do his thing. Shimoda able to make it happen, though, against Swole.
19:17Again, coming back from the Achilles injury. So reset the order. Deegan has opened the gap
19:22to six seconds over Hymus. Villal still third. Marchbank's a long way to go. Let's see if
19:27he can run Villal down, make a bid for the podium. Cochran fifth, Kitchen sixth. Then this
19:33battle. Hamaker swole. Shimoda. Shimoda looking for that seventh. It's around the outside.
19:41Yeah, Joe should have the pass cover right here. He'll be on the inside. And good ride for
19:46him. And it's going to be a frustration day, kind of like we mentioned if Eli in that first
19:50moto, like, man, as good as you're riding, your finishes don't show that. And so
19:54for him, he's going to be frustrated. But nonetheless, he continues to fight. And how
19:58about Swole? Look at this. Yeah, Jalik, I'm swole up on you over here. So, yeah. That's
20:03what I love about him. And as JT mentioned, to come back, even with the fitness, you know,
20:09into the second moto, tough. You know, doing really good. Oh, yeah. This guy doing really
20:16well. That's Hayden Deegan. A reminder, you can get a behind the scenes look at this
20:20Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing squad each week. Check out Beyond the Gate. Go to at
20:27Yamaha Motor USA. And they cover the team both at the races and at the facility in Florida
20:33during the week. Of course, the Deegans have a pretty successful YouTube channel and show
20:39of their own that you may have heard of. So check out the Deegans as well for their recap
20:43every week. But Hayden, the reset he needed. Looking for the 1-1 today. As this battle
20:49continues to rage in the bottom box, I think that's Cochran against Kitchen for fifth.
20:56Yeah, I mean, again, good route by Casey. And Levi's coming up after that first lap mistake
21:01on there. Nice pass, Levi. Get him up there, shut the door, make Casey have to make a decision
21:06on whether he wanted to go for it or not. And he didn't. But, yeah, back to Hayden as you
21:10were talking about, you know, that YouTube channel. I'm sure he's going to let you know
21:14this was a flex move today. I mean, one of those moves, especially the second moto, how
21:19good Chance has been. Chance is still there. But, you know, Hayden came out this second
21:24moto. Once he saw Chance in second, he wanted to flex on him. And so far, he's done that.
21:29And if he's able to, he'll back up what Chance did last weekend. We're having a perfect day.
21:34Fastest qualifier, moto one winner. If he can cap off this with moto two, he'll go 1-1 all through
21:40today. Yeah, 1-1 responding with a 1-1. Now, that bottom box, that pass by Kitchen, I think it's
21:50going to put him back on the overall podium. It's just like last week. At one point, Vial had it last
21:55week. Shimoda, Kitchen was able to rally late and get that third overall. He might have just
22:00done the same thing again. You look at the overall points. Yes, he has vaulted to third.
22:05And the reason that matters so much, 250 class has podium bonuses. I'm going to say it's 10
22:09to 20 grand for a third, usually from a factory team. But they usually don't pay for fourth. So
22:14it's like going out and buying, well, I would like to say a new car. He's got a little more
22:20expensive, maybe a nice used one just for a third place today. That's why they fight so hard
22:24for those podium spots. Yeah, these days, the expensive car, you're talking about buying
22:28some just tires, some tires for the car, maybe get some window tint, maybe a little extra
22:33for a foot rug or something or something. Well, if you're digging, though, and you're winning
22:38races, not just podiums and titles, he's going out and buying the fancy stuff. But the Audi
22:42last year went straight to the Lambo dealership in Supercross. Yeah, we remember him buying that.
22:48The mama took his keys after that one moto, and he came back and dominated to get those
22:52keys back. So yeah, it was stranger to, you know, to find things in life. And I mean,
22:58why wouldn't you these kids? Can you say about it? We talk about Jet Lawrence a lot and the
23:02450 class, but you're watching another superstar, you know, in the making. And, you know, if he
23:08moves up next year, I feel like he does have the right attitude to really compete in that
23:12450 class. And, you know, somebody who was also talking about his size, you know, these
23:17kids grow, you adapt to whatever situation you put in. And if Hayden Deegan's put on
23:21a 450, he's going to adapt to it. Can't wait to watch it.
23:26I can think of some shorter guys who did all right on 450s. I don't know who you're talking
23:30about. Yep. I don't know who you're talking about. One guy named Ricky. There was another
23:33one named Ryan Filippoto. He was pretty darn sporty. Yeah. Ricky Johnson, he was good.
23:37He was tall. He was tall. But, you know, you do start rubbing the hands together thinking
23:45about this record as Deegan continues to win. Jet Lawrence is the first Moto today. We'll
23:49see how he does later. But the plot thickens when you think of those two potentially on
23:54the gate together with the rest of that 450 field next year. And Joe Shimoda just continuing
24:00to make passes. He's right there with Cochran now. Yeah. If he can get around Casey. And
24:04if you look up, that's Levi Kitchen right in front of him. And I do believe he makes
24:08that pass. It changes the podium again. Maybe throws Tom Bial back on there. So
24:12or brings Joe Shimoda up on the podium. So who knows? These passes, they mean something.
24:17And the way Joe is rolling, he probably wants to return to favor because last weekend, the
24:21second Moto, Levi was able to get him at the end and, you know, switch that up. So
24:26look at these lap times last time around, James. Shimoda three seconds quicker than
24:31Kitchen. He might just pass him straight out. No, I think so.
24:34And Levi probably doesn't even know he's there. That's the cool part. Once you're in a roll
24:38like this, he can probably get him and surprise him. Levi will wake up.
24:43What do they say down there in the pits, Katie?
24:46Sue, you're saying he may not know, but he will very soon as he passes his team here.
24:50The pit board says you need to go. Number 30 is coming. So he's getting the warning.
24:55Oh, man. I can tell you as a rider, that is the worst thing you could put on a pit board.
24:59Somebody's coming. You're like, I know he's coming. I can't do anything about it.
25:03I used to get RC's coming. I wanted to kick the pit board out of the hand. Like, don't tell
25:07me something I don't know. Yeah. And I told you that Ricky guy was good. Here comes Shimoda
25:12out the inside. Makes the pass. Nice move by Joe. You saw how he launched out on that jump
25:18to just get on the inside of him. Once you get beside Levi, Levi was obviously going to
25:22try to cut it down. But Joe played that smart. He's not coming. He's gone at this point. Nice
25:29nice route by Joe. And through that, believe it or not, the beneficiary is the owl, who was
25:36back to the overall podium. Now that kitchen lost a point.
25:4330 is rolling, though, right now, JT.
25:45He is definitely rolling, Legion. That's exactly where I wanted to go. He's turning the fastest
25:49lap times on the racetrack. He was a 2-10-1. He's faster than even Hayden Deegan out front
25:54into 2-10-8. So you could question how high Hayden Deegan's effort level is. But more to
25:59the point, Joe Shimoda's on a leading this race pace. He just starts, guys. Whether it's
26:04Chance Heimans, whether it's Joe Shimoda, Levi Kitchen, the list goes on. That first lap
26:08positioning is everything for these guys right now. Yeah. And today, Deegan didn't have to
26:13dig too deep to make some passes like he has had to do in other motos this year or this
26:19race last year. He had the track position both times. Yeah. And it really wouldn't even
26:23necessarily start for Joe. He went down early in the race. So big high side. But yeah, it
26:29ain't your average Joe today. It's Joe time. He's moving up and might be the farthest he
26:32can get. March Paints is about eight seconds in front of him. But the way Joe is rolling,
26:37he might have a shot at it. Time clicking away for Deegan. Four and a half minutes and two
26:43laps left. And he's deep into lap traffic. They're going to say five laps. That's the side
26:48from the mechanic, Brent Duffy. Okay. I think this answer is probably pretty obvious. But
26:54what does this mean for Deegan to go and hang a 1-1 on Heimus?
26:58I mean, for Hayden in the championship, not much. I mean, because Chance was a little far
27:02back. But, you know, just confidence-wise, you start to wonder when we heard Chance come
27:08on the show in the first moto before we got started talking about confidence and trying
27:12to find it. Well, this answers that for him as far as like, hey, Deegan shuts that part
27:17down. You know, hey, kid, you were good last weekend. But that was last weekend on the track
27:21where I had bike problems and I went down to second moto. We come back to the real outdoor
27:26on the East Coast. You started second. You were fast. And I pulled a gap and kind of made
27:31it look pretty easy. So, you know, championship-wise, they ain't doing much. But just mentally stopping
27:36that belief that Chance might have had was gaining. Definitely closed that door for at least
27:41this weekend. Gap up to nearly nine seconds between Deegan and Heimus right now. Heimus
27:48will be second overall today if it ends like this. Send it back to JT.
27:53Well, with Hayden Deegan, I'm really curious to see what his demeanor and what his comments
27:57are on the podium. Remember last year at this race, he even said something like, you know,
28:02I had to show Chance and he doesn't have a chance. And he was all business this morning.
28:06There was no nonsense after time qualifying. Seemed a little bit looser after moto.
28:11So, one, I just want to see if we're back to the Hayden Deegan that is not scared to talk
28:16smack because he doesn't feel like anybody can do anything about it.
28:19Yeah, and I think maybe one of the reasons why he doesn't say it because he understands
28:23it. And again, I don't think Hayden is disrespecting any of these riders. You know, his comments
28:29not meant as a disrespect. It's more meant as, you know, hey, his confidence. And maybe
28:34he doesn't say that much about Chance because he knows how good Chance is. And so, back it
28:38up. But I'm sure a cooking comment might come in there as well.
28:40Oh, yeah, they'll exchange that one. Don't miss that. Also, don't miss your chance to win

29:05Battle still going. This is Thrasher and Handmaker. So, these are two riders who have a little
29:11momentum today. Okay, the finish here outside the top 10, not what they wanted, but it's been
29:15an awful start to the year for Thrasher. We mentioned 18th, his best so far. Handmaker coming
29:20back, missing a race last weekend with injury. So, they're just bringing it to the line now.
29:27Yeah, good ride. I mean, Seth coming out with a shoulder injury, it's not surprising. And then,
29:32you know, Nate, same thing. So, these guys are out here. And again, how deep this field is,
29:37you know, I know, Seth, both these riders want more, but it's still the top 15. It's clearly,
29:42we've seen, if you get a start, this could be a battle for a top five. So, for these guys,
29:47just got to continue to fight. And I do believe they'll just continue getting building better and
29:51better, Katie. Yeah, and for the number 41, the team was saying that the two goals for Nate
29:57Thrasher out there is that he needs to stay consistent through the whole race. And he needs
30:02to get a blazing lap out of him. And then they need to string those laps together. And of course,
30:06they know they can get that fast lap out of him. They just want to see more and more of it. So,
30:10it's kind of like putting the whole puzzle together. Does that make sense, Stu?
30:13No, absolutely. And it's kind of to my point, what I was saying, just, you know,
30:18logging these laps and being up front. I mean, this guy hasn't been on a podium out on outdoors. So,
30:23you know, when you start looking at overtime injuries and all these things, Nate does have
30:28the speed. Clearly, he knows how to win races. He's done that in Supercross. So, the only thing he
30:33needs to do is just get out here. Just like we're watching Jaleek Swole, just like we hear Chance
30:37Hymas talk about, just need that confidence. Eventually, his riding will be able to do it and he'll be able to
30:42move forward. Looks like Swole has made the move on Cochran. I did not have Swole making late race
30:50passes at Moto2 on the bingo car. This guy is coming back from a devastating injury. Told me yesterday
30:56that the speed during the week is there. Maybe not quite the endurance yet, but he's looking strong
31:02right now. Yeah, no, this is very impressive with Jaleek. And the way this track is, you know,
31:06I think it would allow him maybe to ride around some of his deficiencies as far as his injuries.
31:10You know, if you're very patient, you can rest on this racetrack like here. You know, I know it's a
31:16super tough section, but he's able to relax by being patient. He's able to get to that inside.
31:21Nobody's going to pass him. He's going around the shortest part around the racetrack. He's sitting
31:25down, going up the hill. So, he's doing smart as a racer. If you're lacking a little bit, just rest up
31:30in this track is allowed. But nonetheless, you know, he's running seventh place. Solid, solid day
31:37outside of Haydink. And this is a very impressive route for Jaleek to come back from this injury.
31:41And he'd be the top rider on the Triumph team in this moto if it ends like this.
31:47They believe top overall as well. He'd be looking at a ninth overall. So, welcome back.
31:51And by the way, High Point Swole won this race at this track a couple years ago in his Rockstar
31:57Husky days. That was 2021. So, maybe there's a little thing special for him at this track.
32:05But overall, man, coming back from a torn Achilles is good this early.
32:10Yeah, no, for sure. I mean, nonetheless, no matter where it's at, it's still impressive
32:13for him to come out here. These guys get out here and Jaleek can finish this thing off.
32:18It'll be great. Now, there is one of his teammates, the 107 Mikko Harrop, battling it out with
32:23Ryder D. Francisco. Pass made on the downhill. Yeah, that was a pretty easy pass by Mikko.
32:30Like, you see Ryder D didn't get that rhythm. And the way he was in those rollers, he was
32:35in that soft spot. So, every time he would gas it, he would just be in the softer part
32:38because all the roots is getting thrown up. So, good pass by him. These guys are just trying
32:43to finish this off. This track is super difficult for him. And not just physically, but really
32:48just mentally, because there's a lot of slippery parts in here. And it's like, man, you got
32:52this deep stuff. Then you got a hard pack and easy to make mistakes if you're not watching
32:57out.
32:59Good to see Harrop, the very friendly Danish rider, spending a summer in the United States.
33:04He'll go back and race MXGP in Europe and around the world next year in their 450 class,
33:10what they call MX1. But Triumph doesn't have a 450 at their racing yet. The bike is available
33:17for sale, but they want one more year of development before they go racing. We'll see it in the 450
33:22class in Monster Energy. Supercross on the whole SMX World Championship next year. Mikko will
33:28go back to Europe, back home, and race it over there. But in the meantime, he said, hey, why
33:34come to America and have fun on the 250 for the summer. He's doing quite well.
33:38No, he's doing great. He's a young rider. He's only 23 years old. So, you know, good
33:42for him. And Casey Cochran, if you don't watch out, he's right in front of him. So he can
33:46see him. And Casey might not even know he's that close as almost loses front end going
33:51down. His track is difficult. And when you're in a situation where you're Casey, you start
33:55like just trying to finish this thing off. You're where Mikko is, is look, I'm moving
33:59forward. And we've seen a lot of opportunities to pass around this racetrack. So just be
34:03there. And this could be one of those passes right here. Not close enough is Harrah. Yeah,
34:11thank you. Casey went in that corner a little bit slower than he was preparing. It kind of
34:16messed him up. So close that gap back up. He caught him pretty fast. So let's see if
34:22he could just, you know, find his lines again. He might have an opportunity to get around Casey.
34:27Two laps to go. Deegan right now, if it ends this way, would have his largest victory margin
34:32of the year. But see if he cruises through these final laps. Harrah's not cruising.
34:39Going to try the outside.
34:42Yeah, nice move. I think he knew he had to pass by Casey's body language going down the
34:47hill. He's like, look, if I just get beside him, I don't think he's going to fight me too
34:51hard. But Casey ain't going to give up either. He has another opportunity if he could just stay
34:55with him. Only a lap and a half to go. Cochran missed all of Supercross with a femur injury.
35:02Broken femur. That's the thigh bone. That's a big one. So that's why maybe the fitness not
35:07quite there so far this summer. But he has had good starts and he has shown speed. But
35:13Harrah able to get the better of him. That might be the last battle out here. You can see the
35:18overall. Looks like it's going to shape up. Deegan, Hymas, and Vial. So not an outstanding
35:25day for Vial. But as we mentioned, hasn't been on the moto podium since round one. Same thing
35:30with the overall. So a little bit of a rebuild for Vial. Yeah, I mean, I think overall just
35:36for KTM, I think there's more benefits, you know, the team, all the hard work it shows them
35:40get on the podium. You know, Tom Vial, the way his season's been going, maybe for him as
35:45well, like he's, you know, happy to be back on there. But again, he wants to be closer
35:48to Hayden Deegan. And, you know, as you were talking about these guys and fitness, the one
35:52thing we kind of overlook, especially for guys that's coming off injuries, that these four
35:56weeks have been so difficult for these guys. You have Paula, which is just a gnarly racetrack
36:01in general. Then you go to one of the hottest races ever in Hangtown. Then you go to the altitude
36:06and then you come here, which is another tricky place. So it's not surprising that maybe their
36:11fitness is not all the way there over to the four week stretch that they've been
36:15really working, putting their bodies through all this. And if you came off the injury,
36:18came off the couch for Paula, it's not surprising that you might be feeling it a little bit.
36:22These guys are looking forward to the weekend off.
36:26Yes, that's right. And they better rest up because Southwick looms after that break.
36:30And that's a physically demanding soundtrack as well. And, you know, Deegan probably be pretty
36:36tough there. Looking to go three out of four and overalls to start 20-25.
36:46Yeah, I like Peyton because even when he on that podium, you know, you heard him, he was like,
36:52people don't think I can win again, you know, and I'm like, what's one loss? And I remember being
36:56young at his age too. And it's not that he actually believed that people actually thought
37:01he can win, but one person might've said it. It's just the point that he'll talk himself into it.
37:06I know I talked myself into believing that, that that's a fact that look, I'm motivating myself.
37:11And it just shows you when a guy at this level is, as much as Hayden's won and all the success that
37:17his father's had, his sister had to have that attitude to keep just grinding. It really comes from
37:23the comments and him really making stories up in his mind, whether he really believes it or not,
37:28he'll make himself believe. And he comes out and lays the wood to these guys this week.
37:32Yeah, whatever he needed to do, he did it and it worked because Deegan is looking for the perfect
37:37day. Monster Energy fast qualifier and headed to a 1-1. Hayden Deegan sweeps high point 20-25.
37:47The owl, can he bring it home for the podium in the moto and overall? That's a lap rider that he's dealing
37:57with there. Hymus dug deep in moto one. No, but Chance went down. I was looking at the lap times.
38:04Oh, there it is. I assumed Chance was ahead. Where is Chance? Yeah, no, Chance must've went down
38:08because I'm looking at lap times. I'm like, Hayden had 17 seconds. So, oh, bummer. He came across in
38:13third and it's going to cost him the podium. I believe Kitchen is going to steal the podium
38:19because remember, Hymus' first moto was not great. What is he doing there? He's pointing at his knee,
38:24man. Uh-oh. He heard something. It looks like he's running straight back to the pit. So,
38:30ah, that's a bummer for Chance. Oh, no. First of all, you hope he's okay. Man, that cost him the podium.
38:37I'm open.
