The policeman accused of murdering UPSI student Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah, whose body was found in an oil palm plantation last year, pleaded not guilty to the murder charge in the Shah Alam High Court on Thursday (June 12). 00:24The lance corporal was charged with murdering the 25-year-old victim at the SKC Kledang Oil Palm Plantation

00:32in Hulu, Bernam between 9 a.m. on July 10, 2024, and 6 p.m. July 15 last year.

00:40The charge, framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code,

00:44provides a sentence of hanging to death or imprisonment for not more than 40 years

00:49and whipping of not less than 12 strokes upon conviction.

00:53Muhammad Alif was represented by lawyers Noor Aida Madzain Nudeen and Aida Jaafar,

01:00while the prosecution was represented by Deputy Public Prosecutor Maizatul Munira Abdul Rahman.

01:07He was first charged with murdering Noor Farah Kartini at the Kuala Kubu Bharu Magistrates Court

01:13on July 26, 2024, and on May 28, the case was transferred to the Shah Alam High Court for trial.

01:22Noor Farah Kartini was reported missing on July 10, 2024,

01:28before her body was found five days later in the plantation in Kampung, Sri Keledang.
