00:00I need my wita bits. Time to get the muscles out for this one.
00:06North of Newcastle, PC Jamie Leslie is feeling strong.
00:10What I'll do is I will try and push you back, just to try and give the space room for the recovery truck to get in.
00:17But on second thoughts, not that strong.
00:20Are you alright pushing from the front? And I'll steer. I want to try and keep it in the carriageway.
00:25Work smarter, not harder you see.
00:36Right, no, no bother at all. If you need out else just give him a shout alright?
00:40See, that's how you do it. Get him to do the heavy work bit.
00:45He loved it man. He felt part of it.
00:50Bad drivers, beware.
00:53If the cops don't catch you, dash cam will.
00:57With 25,000 traffic convictions a year, down to your cameras, Britain's deadliest drivers have nowhere left to hide.
01:08Here we go.
01:09And on the front line...
01:13Contact.
01:14...are our motorway cops.
01:16Are we going?
01:17Why aye, of course we're gunning.
01:19We join Northumbria police.
01:21You're not getting a selfie with us, no? I've just took your car off you.
01:24...as they chase down dangerous drivers.
01:27Mother, mate you're all bladded. You've had a drink haven't you? I've had two.
01:30I've had two.
01:31And get the worst offenders.
01:32Did he do what I've just done with Stu Kennedy? But I nearly got away.
01:36Nearly got away but you didn't.
01:38Off our roads.
01:40Do you know how they're good?
01:41Yeah.
01:42Anything I do see may be given in evidence Mr Officer.
01:46Helping them in their battle with idiots behind the wheel.
01:49...is dash cam.
01:52Have you seen the dash cam footage?
01:54It's vital evidence...
01:55Do you want your address there?
01:56...and proof...
01:58...that Britain's dumbest drivers...
02:00Do you want your turn?
02:01...are a law unto themselves.
02:04Police one, criminal nil.
02:14You've broke your flight.
02:15Tonight...
02:16The devil's crashed.
02:17...a hit-and-run suspect comes clean.
02:20You're sorting.
02:21I haven't beaten myself off a few years.
02:23...a pursuit with a tipper truck ends in disaster.
02:33He's running.
02:34...and a lawbreaker...
02:36Was that necessary?
02:37It wasn't when you got a load of drugs on you.
02:39...finds a new partner in crime.
02:41I feel like I'll be a couple here.
02:47The north-east of England isn't usually famed for its weather.
02:54But at Eatle Lane Station in Newcastle, today's outlook is positive.
02:59Well, isn't this glorious?
03:03I'm bringing the good vibes tonight.
03:08Let's eat this bad lad.
03:11The Duchess.
03:13It's just a valiant vessel, isn't it?
03:15It's just classy.
03:16Loud.
03:17In your face.
03:18A beast that needs to be tamed.
03:20A bit like me, to be fair.
03:22Goodness!
03:24His high-powered cock car isn't the only set of wheels to get PC Jamie Leslie's heart racing.
03:29I am a little bit sunburnt.
03:30Long weekend down at the F1 in Sylvaston.
03:32I've picked up a few driving tips from them, to be fair.
03:34They're probably not quite at my standard.
03:36I'd quite like to challenge them to a race.
03:37I wish we kind of had a pit crew like them where we could go.
03:38We could go.
03:39We could go.
03:40We could go.
03:41We could go.
03:42We could go.
03:43We could go.
03:44We could go.
03:45We could go.
03:46We could go.
03:47We could go.
03:48We could go.
03:49We could go.
03:50We could go.
03:51We could go.
03:52We could go.
03:53We could go.
03:54We could go.
03:55We could go.
03:56We could go.
03:57And we could go.
03:58But we could go.
03:59We could go.
04:00Our Hamilton cái chives can.
04:01Philosophy.
04:02We'll do it.
04:03In about I think.
04:041.
04:0597 seconds.
04:06Is the or.
04:07The record.
04:08That's the standard about three hours for us.
04:14Okay.
04:15Just quick.
04:16When we.
04:17Police emergency.
04:20It's a silver race at the Mercedes saloon.
04:24Which drivers had masks on?
04:27Certain in the back didn't have nothing on.
04:30What is the registration?
04:32They've put tape over to me that look like a six.
04:36And it's not, it's a number five.
04:38I think pretty much everyone and anyone's going to it.
04:59All the tactical units going, firearms are going.
05:05Tango 10.58, that's me on Kilmath way now.
05:18It's just past me, continuing Kilmath way towards the A19.
05:22It's got the rear bump I'm missing.
05:26Are you in a Marvago?
05:28Yes, yes.
05:30Just playing catch up now.
05:33Motorway cops will stop at nothing
05:36to keep car thieves from causing chaos on our roads.
05:43In Birmingham, West Midlands police are behind a stolen car.
05:47But when the thief spots the cops in his rear view...
05:50Nothing sparkly, a foul to stop now.
05:53He puts his foot down.
05:55Yeah, foul to stop.
05:56The suspect throws the stolen car around tightly packed streets.
06:03Missing other vehicles by inches.
06:05He's pushing his way through a couple of cars.
06:10He races through busy traffic.
06:14Speed's probably six there and a three there.
06:17And in his desperation to get away, goes head on with other motorists.
06:22He's wrong side of the carriageway, it's high race.
06:26The driver continues to speed away from police.
06:29You almost lost control.
06:31And finally, crashes the robbed motor before making off on foot.
06:35RTC, RTC, we've got a runner.
06:38But he's not as fast on his feet.
06:41The driver pleaded guilty to burglary, theft of a car and dangerous driving.
06:46He was sentenced to four years in prison.
06:49It's just past me.
07:00In Newcastle, Jamie has eyes on the suspected stolen car.
07:07Going on the 19, Jamie.
07:09Couldn't tell when I spun round.
07:11It made us...
07:16Come on.
07:19Right, have eyes on it here.
07:24Stand by.
07:25I think I'm behind it.
07:31Nah, cancel.
07:39What an idiot.
07:49It's just pinged eastbound.
07:55Back on it.
07:56We're back in the game.
07:57Paul's not lost.
08:01It's just pinged again.
08:05Help down the end too.
08:07Are you behind the vehicle?
08:09Yes.
08:10As more cops close in.
08:18One patrol has the suspect car in their sights.
08:21People just...
08:22Get in lane now.
08:23People just crashed.
08:24People just crashed.
08:25Dongy drivers paint a poor picture of Britain's roads.
08:40There's little sign of artistic flair.
08:41But plenty of brushes with danger.
08:57These motoring masterpieces are far from a work of art.
09:02A work of art.
09:09We're back in the game.
09:10Paul's not lost.
09:13In Newcastle, Jamie has joined the hunt for a suspected car thief.
09:18And one patrol has the wanted vehicle in their sights.
09:22They're just going ahead and laid now.
09:32Pable's crashed.
09:41We're okay.
09:45The driver has ploughed into queuing traffic.
09:51substantial damage to their vehicles. We've got one male drive detained. Two to death.
10:02We've got two detained in one runoff. Yes, yes.
10:13We've got run up from the vehicles so we're just making our way down to the area now.
10:19What's the description of you, Aladin?
10:22The model I'm standing there tall with blonde hair.
10:25That's all in black.
10:30That's the one we're looking for.
10:3610.58, I've got someone matching that description. It's just something in that car.
10:49Hello, have you got someone in the back of your car at all?
11:04Have you? Just stop there, two seconds. I need to speak to you, all right?
11:07Just put your handcuffs just for the time being, bonnie lad. You've just ran off from there, haven't you?
11:21Have you jumped out for us?
11:23Have you jumped out for us?
11:26You are sootin'.
11:28I haven't been going to show off with these.
11:30Sootin' me? Come and have a sit in the back of my car, bonnie lad?
11:33He won't.
11:35Whatever it is from my life is, it's got nothing to do with me.
11:38We have to have to go for a concert with him at all.
11:42He's here in your car, is he?
11:44Nah, he's here.
11:45Let's get a look at him.
11:50Jump in there.
11:51That's him?
11:52Yeah.
11:53Yeah, Tango 10.58, Kempi's ID'd him.
11:56Swing your legs in for us.
11:57Yeah, ma, will you tell him to lose him to push?
11:58Yeah.
12:01So what's the conversation been between you and him?
12:03He bangers, he says, can you come and get this from my friends?
12:06I says, yeah.
12:08Not mentioned anything about making off from police?
12:10Nothing, not a single thing.
12:12Ma!
12:13Ma!
12:14Ma!
12:16Are you deaf?
12:18I cannae put them by your back, man.
12:20You make this all right, man.
12:21Whatchya, mate?
12:22I'm uncomfortable, mate.
12:23Oh, man, you're not the...
12:26Listen to me now, son, right?
12:28I'm not trying to be funny, all right, bud.
12:30You're kind of be doing that.
12:31I haven't done nothing wrong, mate.
12:32No, you're acting like an idiot, aren't you?
12:35Are you going to be chilled out?
12:36I am.
12:37I'm sorry, I apologise.
12:38I apologise.
12:39Yes, sir.
12:44Oh, God!
12:45So what do you even worry?
12:46Oh, come on.
12:47You tell me.
12:48You must think I came down in the last shower.
12:51What's the craziest police chase you've ever done?
12:52What's the craziest police chase you've ever been in?
12:57Well, they want some beautiful tea pack in my car.
12:58I wasn't proper tea packing, that one.
12:59I know.
13:00Next time I'll show you proper tea packing.
13:01Next time I'll show you proper tea packing.
13:02Ha, ha, ha.
13:03Ha, ha.
13:04Ha, ha.
13:05Ha, ha, ha.
13:06Ha, ha.
13:07Ha, ha.
13:08Ha, ha.
13:09Ha, ha, ha.
13:10Ha, ha.
13:11Ha, ha.
13:12Ha, ha.
13:13Ha, ha.
13:14I wasn't proper tea packing, that one.
13:15Ha, ha, ha.
13:16Ha, ha, ha.
13:17Next time I'll show you proper tea packing.
13:18Ha, ha.
13:19Bye-bye.
13:20Bye.
13:21Bye-bye.
13:49The last one he was made off, he was sweating like a good and hot, was beaten out of his chest.
14:15Got a little bit animated in the back of the car, but he chilled out eventually.
14:20He's an alright lad, he's not really a criminal, but you get triars who think you came down in the last shower, you know what I mean?
14:28What the devil's gone on then, officer? Oh yeah, yeah, no problem.
14:34They're all pulling the wool over my eyes, they're too big to start with.
14:45Good morning, Mark. How are you? You alright?
14:55Morning, Sergeant. Who's driving today then, Sergeant?
14:59Person in charge. Keys are already obtained. No coin toss required. I'll look after you.
15:04I'll just do as I'm told.
15:06Right, shall we get out?
15:12As Acting Sergeant Andy Clark and PC Mark Crammond head out in an unmarked car, there's talk of an upgrade.
15:21If you could have any police car from any era, or even any car to make a police car, what would it be?
15:27McLaren F1. Ah, good, sounds good. Yeah, a couple of pop-up cones.
15:31Pop-up cones on the passenger seat.
15:34What uniform do you think you would wear though?
15:36Shortened t-shirt.
15:37I can just imagine you having like a full, like, race boiler suit on underneath with your helmet.
15:43Why would I have a helmet on?
15:45Well, because I just, I don't feel safe in the passenger seat.
15:48What are they doing?
16:01Did he look like he was like, dealing out the window there?
16:04I don't know, he's just handed him something there. He's walking off now.
16:07Try and get round, yeah.
16:11He's moving off now.
16:13I think he's going to make off, yeah?
16:18Ah, he's just shot round that bend there.
16:20Is he going? Is he going?
16:24Actually, he's going a bit quick, isn't he?
16:26Yeah, all right.
16:28I don't know if he's trying to lose it on these streets, yeah?
16:30It's a bit of a minefield round the spike of wall.
16:37What's he doing? Oh, he's stopping there, look at him. Is he?
16:39He's just pulling up there, mate.
16:48Oi, mate, you OK? Come here a sec.
16:50Mate, he's running.
17:06Stand up.
17:07Stand over there.
17:10Open that hand.
17:13Read, lock up fire, possession of classic intent to supply.
17:17Aye.
17:18We are.
17:19A morbidly obese man, I shouldn't be running.
17:20I miss him.
17:25That was unnecessary.
17:27It wasn't when he got a load of drugs on you.
17:29Bit old for that, aren't you?
17:33This lad's got drugs on him, so if he could just spook a cell.
17:36Yes, we see that, no problem.
17:39Now, take this off, put that hand on top of your head, OK?
17:42You can have your hand.
17:43Oh, your hand.
17:44Just drop down the bottom of your back.
17:49Oh, it's just your glass that's leaking.
17:51Don't run.
17:53I know, mate.
17:54Help me with that.
17:55Yeah, comfy.
18:02Feel like you're a happy couple, yeah?
18:03I'm just searching the car to make sure there's nothing else on it.
18:08I was wondering if that was a bag of drugs, but I think it's a filthy nappy.
18:12OK, I'm going to request a sample of saliva off you.
18:15Test for cannabis and cocaine.
18:16Are you used any?
18:17Nah, nah, I didn't.
18:18I've got a hole in me, mate.
18:20I just mean I didn't take drugs on you.
18:22Can you just pop your tongue out for us, please, Pop?
18:24That's it.
18:26Jump.
18:29Tested positive for cocaine as well.
18:30I didn't pay cocaine, mate.
18:31I've got a hole in me.
18:32Well, you're further arrested for section 5A of the road traffic after cocaine.
18:35I don't know.
18:36I can't work that much.
18:37Luckily, Mark was hot on his heels and managed to get him caught.
18:40I did the easy bit and stayed with the car.
18:41I think that's experience over youth.
18:43I'm an athlete.
18:44I recovered quicker than him.
18:46I'm surprised it took us so long to catch him, I was trying to phone down the stairs.
18:50It was a huge number of people who killed him.
18:51I was going to get a job.
18:53Best.
18:54Best.
18:55Best.
18:56Best.
18:57Best.
18:58Best.
18:59Best.
19:00Best.
19:01Best.
19:02Best.
19:03Best.
19:04Best.
19:05Best.
19:06Best.
19:07Best.
19:08Best.
19:09Best.
19:10No last year, the police have, like the police Olympics if you like.
19:17I won the five metre egg and spoon race.
19:21Right, let's get ourselves away and get you tucked up in bed.
19:26At least you're comfortable.
19:30As long as you have the last lap, eh?
19:33You know what I'm a little bit gutted about?
19:38Didn't stretch?
19:39Because when you went down the stairs, I jumped down the whole lot.
19:42Thought in my head, I'm going to twist my head when I land.
19:45Did you jump down all the stairs?
19:47Are you up skimming and jumping?
19:55Mind your head.
19:57Alright, keep holding us, we don't fall over.
20:09Good job that, good lock up.
20:19Aye.
20:20It's good running there mate.
20:22I've still got it like, I'm still fasting over about 50 metres.
20:25Anything more than that you'll have to start putting sweets down to make me run.
20:29I've decided to stay with the car to keep it safe.
20:32You always need to secure the car.
20:34Make sure there's no warning lights on it.
20:35Make sure it's got battery.
20:36Make sure it activates.
20:37I might as well have a banana in there if it doesn't work.
20:40If I've got to pull it out and use it.
20:41Make sure there's no warning lights on it.
20:42Make sure it's got battery.
20:43Make sure it activates.
20:44I might as well have a banana in there if it doesn't work.
20:45If I've got to pull it out and use it.
20:46The weather forecast is wrong.
21:01This was meant to be rental middle of the car but I've also got to keep it safe for
21:14wrong. This was meant to be late until midnight that I'm complaining.
21:23A dull day at work is just what PC Martin Anderson needs.
21:31I had a little bit too much sun yesterday. I know that's probably hard to believe with,
21:37you know, my skin colouring. You'd probably suspect that I would normally go nice and
21:40brown, but unfortunately not. I go very, very red. I have a little bit of soreness and
21:47then I go back to being just as white as I was beforehand. So after three hours of being
21:52in the UK summertime sunlight, I had to crack open the aftersun last night to take the sting
21:57out of it because it was quite sore. This has actually went down a little bit.
22:01I've got a possible clone northbound. It's a grey Renault Clio.
22:08Yeah, received. We're heading towards it. These number of brains were stolen. It's now used
22:14in a theft. So this one's a grown Renault Clio. It's just activated one of the cameras in Sunderland.
22:20We're going to make some progress to try and get down and get it stopped.
22:27It's good because we're all out as well. It's like six cars south today. We're either hoping
22:33that one of us gets an eyeball on it or we get another ANPR activation to give us a bit
22:40of a hint as to where it is. It's extremely active. It has been for the last week or so.
22:48But all these patterns I can see is usually when it goes over the bridge. It'll come back
22:5520 minutes later. There you go and we'll hang about here.
23:11I'm waiting in. Yes, it comes back over the bridge.
23:18Lima 274. That vehicle just pinged.
23:23With it now.
23:28Tommy, I'm just on the sea front. I'll be with you shortly.
23:34Bad drivers are rewriting the rules of the road. Adding new twists to the tail.
23:52Jesus.
23:55And unexpected page turners.
24:00It's clear. Some characters.
24:07That is true.
24:09Have completely lost the plot.
24:12Oh.
24:13First on dash count.
24:17I've got a possible claw and hit the ANPR camera.
24:21With it now. Morrison.
24:26Tommy, I'm just on the sea front. I'll be with you shortly.
24:29Tommy's got stopped. It's pulled into his car park. So it's just literally up here.
24:36In Sunderland, Martin is racing to back up PC Tommy Wade, who stopped the driver of a cloned car.
24:44Yeah, we're on route. Just outside of Morrison's now, more or less.
24:51You know, we don't know what these people are trying to disguise for us that they're involved in.
24:56You know, we want to make sure that, er, our colleagues are all right.
24:59You know, we want to make sure that, er, our colleagues are all right.
25:03Was it just the one person in it, was it?
25:06I think it's all right.
25:08That's all right.
25:09Just give us your hands.
25:14Have you got one you shouldn't have?
25:15Come on, help me.
25:16Let's jump out for us.
25:17just give us your hands have you got and you shouldn't have let's jump out for us
25:28that's just gonna be back in that rubber glove me it's a back door to back
25:34right jump back in there buddy this nail is quite all recorded with us
25:39please show me the provisional license right got provisional no i lost it like

26:10probably just bought the car and then me being daft me and went picked up on them
26:12all right some people don't always tell you the um
26:18the truth about things so he's going to hold you a decent
26:21favorite back for this isn't he mate probably not speak with him to tell you the truth all right
26:25right are you already taking me night thanks very much man oh no bother mate i'll see you in a bit
26:45not only is it a clone vehicle it's actually turned out to be a stolen car
26:57he's trying to do a good deed for his pal
26:58by moving a a car which he didn't realize was stolen and on false plates
27:07i would have been happier if we'd got hands on and got the lock up but it's a team effort isn't it
27:11so yeah who knows the next one tommy might come at the back or something when we're slapping the cuffs
27:18on to someone shortly but i believe that when i see it
27:34oh it is warm today i've told the better half to mow the lawn but she refuses so i have to do it
27:45clearly she doesn't know how does it fit in the same category as washing the car and hoovering the car
27:50to be fair she likes doing that that's a boss
27:56it's never a chore patrolling newcastle for andy and mark
28:04nice mustang i'd love to be rich i would upgrade the house
28:13buy her a family car and probably just marry her you're not married
28:18how do you manage that 18 years i know you're tight cargy but come on it's her more than me is it yeah
28:26and now she's going on about when we're getting married i don't want to be an old bride
28:30did you tell it was too late today this pair are committed to catching up with a cloned car
28:42we've been tasked to look for a motor vehicle which is allegedly driving around on clone plates
28:49there's a load of reasons why people will do that and one's normally to evade the police
28:54the second one's to go out go out and commit crime normally serious crime
28:59yeah if someone had cloned your reg plates the best thing to do is get it stopped safely
29:03confirm cloud to tiguan or force plates
29:20should be a dacia sandero however it's possibly on a rew tiguan white
29:26i have to keep my eyes peeled for this vehicle it's going to be prepared for all eventualities
29:36oh man
29:38there's two of our tactical cars with work it's really really good gives you an advantage
29:56behind that people now
29:59approaching the roundabout with the a1
30:01so they're not far ahead of us now
30:05tango 35 we're just uh hit the broad way now we're not far behind it
30:10they're approaching the roundabout standby
30:14there's that roundabout now should either should just be straight ahead of her
30:18all tactics are for price but mc should be on tactical box
30:24serious criminals are often in the driving seat of cars on cloned plates
30:29stopping them is a high-risk move for the cops
30:36in elsmuir port a car thief in a stolen bmw is making a getaway from cheshire police
30:42the vehicle failing to stop
30:45the suspect shoots past slowing traffic as the cops close in
30:49behind the vehicle now held up by one vehicle
30:53but he bullies another driver out of the way and floors it
30:59speed is currently 60 60 miles an hour
31:04flying into blind bends the driver hits dangerously high speeds
31:0950 is now 100 miles an hour
31:12and he leaves the cops for dust
31:15temporary loss at this stage
31:17but just around the corner
31:18it's carnage
31:23the cars go nowhere after smashing into a barrier
31:28the driver's done a runner
31:29but dna on the airbag finally sees him locked up
31:36a search of the car boot revealed three different sets of registration plates
31:41the driver was found guilty of dangerous driving and handling stolen goods
31:45he was jailed for 22 months and disqualified from driving for four years
31:58cloud to tiguan or force plates
32:04time for 35 we're just uh hit the broad way now we're not far behind it
32:07in newcastle mark and andy are planning to box in a potential cloned motor
32:15there'll be pre-emptive tactics to stop the car and secure the occupants as quickly and as safely
32:20as possible behind that people now two three lanes stationary red atss
32:28that's it we're direct behind it
32:34sharp
32:34you're going on the inside
32:47hello
32:48turn the engine off
32:58the vehicle stop no damage now pass you the vin on the vehicle
33:05what's the vrm for that vehicle yankee foxtrot 73
33:12so that's got yankee sierra 73 it should be yankee foxtrot 73
33:17one of the letters on it is uh is incorrect
33:20look at the reds yankee sierra 73 that comes back to audacia
33:31that car is clearly not audacia sandero it's a vw tiguan isn't it
33:37nine times out of ten when this has happened it's done on purpose as a criminal offense
33:42can i get anything i'll check please
33:50yeah everything seems to be in order no issues
33:53play an error by the garage we don't stop them we'll never know who's driving could have been for
33:58criminality on occasion it does end up being a genuine error which it does look like it is today
34:04it's been a good stop managed id the vehicle scared the living daylights out of the driver
34:13get the car shifted and let all these other people who are stuck in traffic get past
34:25and so
34:39i've got a little bit of sympathy for him you know he thinks he's just driving home he's surrounded by
34:45police and and it is a little bit overwhelming that's how i'd expect the genuine person to react
34:51you'd expect them to be shook up that's why it's such a good tactic because it
34:55it catches people off guard good driving that clock quick quick thinking you're on it
35:21somebody's had a rough night parking in the dog section car park are we
35:31dog sergeant's gonna be barking mad sergeant dave roberts has launched an investigation
35:37and he's chasing down a new lead i will quickly check for monroirs labradors drugs dogs german
35:46shepherds the usual sutters are in definitely no dogs in there wow it smells like there has been
35:51though any poodles in the boot no poodles in the boot any cocker spaniels in the front
35:59no right just parked in the very wrong place
36:06dave spent 30 years as a cop but this old dog is still up for new tricks
36:12i would love to be a train announcer we should be visiting roland's gill high spen gateshead north
36:21tyneside northumberland newcastle sunderland hexam and the office but i think i'll probably get bored
36:28the secret to maintaining your enthusiasm through a shift is just personal resilience you never give
36:44up because you never know what the next 10 seconds will reveal it's often a case of just that little
36:50hint and then suddenly we're on
37:01i'm just going to um briefly stop this vehicle up here just a routine stop check just to say hello
37:06and just see who is in that car
37:11it's not done anything wrong just the way that they drove to that roundabout saw us and somewhat
37:17slowed down it could be me being completely over sensitive or then now take a bit of a bizarre route
37:24through here so
37:33so
37:39five four one oh dude yeah i've got a vehicle feel it to stop
37:55britain's dodgiest drivers rarely play their cards right geez
38:01and they cheat behind the wheel
38:09pushing others to snap
38:12jesus when patience runs out it's rarely happy families
38:31i'm just going to um briefly stop this vehicle up here
38:44five four one i do
38:46yeah i've got a vehicle feeling to stop
38:49dave's copper's nose has led him to a car that's decided to make off
38:53request to the authority for a pursuit signal systems of the technical units
38:58that's important dogs so far
39:00yeah do you attack units to break it
39:04yes
39:07it's a right right roads are wet there's no pedestrians in the area
39:13there's a temporary loss stand by
39:26just following the wet tire marks
39:30vehicle looked to contain two adult males whose identity and destination is unknown
39:35yeah re-engaged the vehicle has taken it left left uh it's medium risk speeds five zero
39:45yep it's another temporary loss
39:54bloody speed bumps
39:57here
39:59it is a case of where
40:01the case of when we find it
40:05what now i'm with that vehicle now
40:07one of the other teams has found that car abandoned
40:22that is so annoying speed bumps just couldn't keep up with the thing horrendous
40:29somebody's clearly parked it here tight to the fence thinking it'll not be seen
40:33doesn't work that way
40:35we're not stupid
40:37yeah what was in it and why didn't want to stop there's a question
40:42yeah well for me aside from the dangerous driving and with no doubt that this car's involved in
40:47criminality i'm going to force entry to the vehicle and search it in location
40:52right you ready
41:04it's actually quite clean inside
41:07i'll be with uh force entrance to the vehicle just trying to search it as best we can
41:10could you see we can get something to make some keeper inquiries
41:19back behind so i'm going back to a stolen vehicle
41:24stolen february last year
41:27bloody hell
41:29okay
41:33so we've now identified this is actually as a stolen vehicle uh that's been cloned
41:37so the uh the list of offenses really grows by the minute
41:52i've done this for 30 years and you do develop a bit of a skill to spot something that's not right
42:06the fact that we haven't got anybody arrested from it is frustrating because you want to get
42:09everything sewn up in a nice little neat package but you've got to accept that you know on the balance
42:14of the risks that they were taking it is still a win because you know it's always present that
42:21these things won't go well and you can find yourself in in quite a lot of pain
42:29early part of last year looking for a particular vehicle and some other officers got behind a ford
42:35transit flatbed and the shoot started i ended up in front of the subject van which is never a healthy
42:44place to be and effectively we were looking to employ a tactic to bring it to a stop but unfortunately
42:50before we got a chance to put that in play this transit van rammed me off the road
42:54it was terrifying it absolutely was
43:10i ended up with chest and neck whiplash injuries which wasn't very nice at all it took about seven
43:18or eight months before those symptoms subsided and it obviously stays with you
43:25we're trained to avoid it we hope it doesn't happen but you know people do get hurt unfortunately
43:31people are in situations that however much we wish we could avoid we simply can't
43:39never mind the dangerous driving element uh he was charged with a full-on assault
43:44as a result of which he got 30 months in prison which is really nice um to think that the courts are
43:49supporting that
43:50right right definitely cheese salad tank
43:55if you have any dash cam clips you think could feature in the next series of motorway cops send them
