In 2027, you'll be able to reach the top of the Pugradung National Park just by a cable car.
00:07
With an investment of 1 billion baht, the project aims to make the iconic mountain more accessible
00:13
while protecting its fragile ecosystem. The design will make the uphill trek an easy ride,
00:19
but it's also a conservation tool. The Thai government says that the cable car will help
00:25
preserve the natural environment for future generations by reducing foot traffic, overnight
00:30
stays, and waste. There will be 32 cabins, each carrying up to 8 passengers. Construction will
00:37
begin in 2026 and take about a year to finish. Once finished, the cable car will also be used for
00:43
emergency route rescue operations and also wildfire response.
