00:07With an investment of 1 billion baht, the project aims to make the iconic mountain more accessible
00:13while protecting its fragile ecosystem. The design will make the uphill trek an easy ride,
00:19but it's also a conservation tool. The Thai government says that the cable car will help
00:25preserve the natural environment for future generations by reducing foot traffic, overnight
00:30stays, and waste. There will be 32 cabins, each carrying up to 8 passengers. Construction will
00:37begin in 2026 and take about a year to finish. Once finished, the cable car will also be used for
00:43emergency route rescue operations and also wildfire response.
