00:00At the time when Thailand was rarely noticed on the football radar,
00:03Wuthia La Harkun emerged as the first Thai player to play in the European League.
00:08Famous by the nickname Heng, Wuthia is no doubt one of Thailand's legendary footballers of all time.
00:14He mostly played in the midfield throughout his career.
00:16Between 1979 and 1981, Wuthia played for Hertha Berlin before moving to FC Saarbrücken from 1982 to 1984.
00:25This made him the first Thai player to play in the European League
00:29and the only one to play in German top flight Bundesliga.
00:32Not only that, Wuthia also became the first Thai player to play in Japan's top tier league.
00:37Before moving to Germany, he had played for Yanman Diesel in 1978.
00:44As for the national team, he played over 100 matches for the War Elephants,
00:48winning multiple trophies including the Southeast Asian Games titles in 1977 and 1985 before retiring in 1987.
