Have you ever seen termites in Thailand?
00:02
Well, back in the day people thought they were good luck.
00:05
Yep, you heard that right.
00:07
Termites, the tiny wood-munching critters, were believed to bring wealth and prosperity.
00:13
So why is that?
00:14
Well, termites live way down in the soil and people believed they were connected to the sacred powers.
00:20
Oh, and we haven't even mentioned the chong luok or termite malls.
00:23
People used to think that these malls were like little messages from the Parmatarani or the Earth Goddess herself.
00:30
If you ever saw termite mall in Thailand, don't ever step on it or pee on it.
00:35
In fact, Thai people would even offer a red soda or garlands just to pay for it. Good luck.
