00:00All right, we got Coach James Young.
00:03You get him on Coast to Coast.
00:05You get him on Sports Grid.
00:06You get him on Betting Above the Rim, Pro Basketball Today on Saturdays.
00:10He is hoops extraordinaire.
00:14So let's talk about Jason Kidd for a second to start off.
00:19You think that it's coming together, this thing, in some capacity,
00:23like a trade or something, because Dallas won't say anything at all,
00:26and they never have.
00:27Yeah, they never said anything, but remember,
00:31Jason Kidd is the last coach to get traded, I think from Brooklyn to Milwaukee.
00:35That's right.
00:36It only costs the Bucs a couple of second-round picks,
00:38so it's not going to cost a lot.
00:40The reason why I think it's just for the fact that there's two names you heard
00:43from coaches that are under contract when the Knicks started their search.
00:48It was him and E-Man Doka.
00:51Houston shut it down immediately.
00:53Like, same day, same morning, nope.
00:56Not interviewing for the job.
00:59Dallas has been eerie quiet.
01:02So to me, I think Jason Kidd wants the job.
01:05I think, you know, he's got a very good relationship with Jalen Brunson.
01:09You know, and I think you want a guy that maybe, you know,
01:14in this softness that we have now, you want a better communicator,
01:19because Tibbs didn't talk to his guys enough.
01:23So to me, you know, Jason Kidd to the Knicks is carrying more legs because,
01:27let's be honest, the other name we've heard is Johnny Bryant.
01:31We've heard Taylor Jenkins.
01:32Well, Johnny Bryant can get hired immediately, and Taylor Jenkins is unemployed.
01:37So if they would, either one of those two, they would have hired him by now.
01:43So to me, I think it's Jason Kidd, only a matter of time.
01:46All right.
01:46So what about this talk of, I mean, I almost fell over today, of this, this, you know,
01:54KD and Giannis to the Knicks, like, that's not happening.
01:58Both of those guys coming to the Knicks and, like, what,
02:01they said that they're going to trade Cat to the Suns for KD
02:05because he's got, like, an expiring contract or something.
02:08Do you believe all this nonsense?
02:10No, I don't, listen, Giannis kind of came on today a little bit
02:14and said how much he loves Milwaukee.
02:16You know, his kids were born there.
02:18He's loyal to there.
02:19Do I think KD is coming?
02:22That's probably more likely.
02:24You know, because when you look at the teams that are looking at KD,
02:27why, number one, why would you send him to Houston?
02:31Why would you send him to San Antonio?
02:33Wait, those teams are just, like, getting into their win now, you know,
02:40championship window.
02:41The Knicks think they're one score, one sniper away.
02:45So to me, KD has more legs.
02:47He's a money sniper.
02:49He's a money sniper, you know.
02:50So, you know, so that has more legs to me as KD going to the Knicks.
02:56We'll see what happens.
02:57But as long as Jason...
02:58Is he better than what they had with Brunson and Cat?
03:04Would you rather have Brunson with old man Durant?
03:09Even though he can fill it up from downtown and he's, you know, automatic 25 a night,
03:16no questions asked.
03:17But he's old and, you know, he has that month off every year with his calf.
03:22That's the issue.
03:23It's the month off and how they're going to use him.
03:27If you're telling me I'm going to just say my championship window is in 26 and in 27,
03:33yes, because here's what KD is good at.
03:37You know this, Pharrell, you don't got to run ISO ball for him.
03:42You can have him come off stuff, you know, catch, boom, catch, jab, wonderful pull-up.
03:47It's very clean with Durant.
03:49So he's also a bail you out of the shot clock kind of guy.
03:53And I think that will make sense because I think the Knicks need someone else on the perimeter
03:58that can go get a bucket.
04:00Like, OG, even though he looked good in the playoffs, he doesn't go get you a bucket
04:05at 101, late clock, five, six seconds left.
04:08Bridges can't do it.
04:09No one else can do it.
04:10So to me, yeah, he can do that.
04:12And then at the end of the day, you just go, Bridges at the two, OG at the three,
04:17or Durant three, four with OG, and Mitchell Robinson at the five,
04:21and you bring Josh Hart off the bench, where I think he actually is better coming off the bench
04:25than in his starting lineup.
04:26All right, so what do you think is going to happen in Indianapolis with the next two games?
04:33Well, I actually like the Pacers in the first quarter to win.
04:37I think I saw something that I saw unlocked out of Tyrese Halliburton.
04:42You probably saw it in the fourth quarter is they took him off the ball.
04:45They had him come off of, you know, pin downs or dribble drops or the dribble handoffs
04:50into a ball screen, so they got him on the run.
04:54I think that's the adjustment of Rick Carlisle is going to make.
04:58I still think the game is going to go to Oklahoma City, but I think the Pacers come out hot,
05:02lean on the home crowd.
05:04And then I would look at Halliburton over four and a half points in the first quarter.
05:07And then the other thing I would look at, interestingly enough, is wait until after the first quarter
05:11and then bet Jalen Williams in the second quarter.
05:16Go look at his stats.
05:17There's a great place, I think it's called Popcorn Machine, where it shows game flows.
05:22SGA typically sits, ready folks?
05:25The first five to six minutes of the second quarter,
05:28and that is when Jalen Williams becomes the primary scorer.
05:32Jalen Williams, second quarter points, if you can find it live on FanDuel.
05:36So, do you think Indy wins one of the games at home, and no, they're going to lose both games at home?
05:43No, this is over.
05:45This is over in five.
05:47And if it's a – the closer game is going to be game three.
05:52Game three is going to be closer.
05:53I agree with that.
05:54I think Oklahoma City finds a way to win game three.
05:57If Oklahoma City goes into Indianapolis and beats them by like a 20-piece,
06:02you better be worried because it could get really ugly real quick.
06:05Yeah, I don't – that's not happening.
06:08I don't think that's happening.
06:09I think that – I agree with what you said, you know, fully.
06:12I think game three is the game where it's going to be closer,
06:15and they haven't covered on the road.
06:18Well, that's why I also – that's why I also think with the four-and-a-half, three-and-a-half,
06:21that's why I'd rather play the game live.
06:22I think Indiana jumps out.
06:24You could probably get them on the money line pretty close to even money or minus 140 or less,
06:28and that's why I would jump on OKC after quarter one or even after halftime
06:32because Oklahoma City is really good at finding adjustments, particularly in the second half.
06:37It's not a big line, but I would like that line to come down to under one basket
06:42because I think it will be close, but I think OKC still wins out.
06:46What about tonight with the Indy and Atlanta, Chicago, and the Liberty?
06:51Indy, Atlanta over Kelsey Mitchell – not Kelsey Mitchell – Ryan Howard over her points prop.
06:57Go the other way in New York versus Chicago.
06:59Take the under.
07:00Remember, Courtney Vannister's out.
07:02That team's a hot mess, and that will actually take Angel, which is under 10-and-a-half points.
07:07Low control with no John Quill Jones, but with Stewie and Sabley,
07:11they should be able to contain her off the boards and block her shots.
07:13The Liberty are going to whack them.
07:16They're awful.
07:17All right, Coach, great stuff.
