Auburn Tigers Eliminated from Super Regional by Coastal Carolina

The Auburn Tigers fell in two games to Coastal Carolina who are riding a 23-game winning streak.

00:00A great run, a great season for our guys.

00:04So many young players helped us.

00:06Our leadership was great.

00:09I talked to our guys about a mantra this year,

00:12go mad, make a difference, and they did.

00:15They made a difference for me.

00:17Our fans, as you could tell this year,

00:20they endured themselves to an amazing fan.

00:23Our people behind the scenes and our leadership

00:25kept building this thing out with momentum.

00:28And I'm forever grateful for that.

00:31And that's what I told the players,

00:33that they absolutely tried to define that to the best of their ability

00:36and make a difference.

00:37But we saw a good collection of arms.

00:40To be able to play at home for two days

00:43and not execute or find ourselves getting in the beginning,

00:47I thought that would need to happen.

00:49I thought our pitching staff was markedly more competitive

00:53to be able to get to this stage of the season than last,

00:56but it was a grind and we wound up throwing a kitchen sink

00:59and everything at this deal.

01:02So a sincere tip of the hat to Coastal.

01:06They played in all facets very well.

01:09So we didn't get a great start yesterday,

01:12but I thought we competed the whole time,

01:14scored in four frames there and having a chance.

01:18But the players gave us everything for an entire year.

01:21The coaches probably could do two or three different things.

01:25I always feel that way if we don't get the result that we want.

01:28But the guys battled hard.

01:32And this will fuel us hopefully to reset something

01:36to try to strive for consistency.

01:38And I always say at this stage of the year from my experience,

01:44it's not the best team that you're worried about.

01:47It's the hottest team.

01:48And this continues.

01:49This was a hot team coming in.

01:51This won a bunch of baseball games.
