00:00The Braves right now with a seven game below 500 record are still a slight favorite tonight on the
00:07road by the bay in San Francisco against the Giants. Spencer Schwellenbach gets the start in
00:12SF. Of course, the Giants rallied to split their four game series against the San Diego Padres.
00:18What's the play tonight out in San Francisco? There's always cooler temperatures out in San
00:22Francisco, but let's understand this too. It's almost like the Braves, like one day they won't
00:26hippothal pitch. The next day they'll pitch, but they won't hit, and then vice versa, back and
00:31forth. It's kind of crazy how it plays out that way. Now, granted, you should have the better
00:34pitcher on the mound. Spencer Schwellenbach's going to go. His last 33 to third innings over the past
00:38month has equated to a 2.16 ERA, which is phenomenal, and that matches up with a great XFIP number of 2.61.
00:45Not a great hitting lineup, as we explained here for the San Francisco Giants, but on the opposite
00:49side, Hayden Birdsong was on the mound. I never really heard of that guy. Over his last 84 batters
00:54at his face, Ben, a 1.30 ISO, and a weighted on base percentage of 3.11, and really doing a great
00:59job against right-handed batters. If you take a look at him, he's ninth on the card today out of
01:0329 pitchers with XFIP at a 3.53 and a manageable ERA at a 3.20. So fun is usually bad pitchers and a lot
01:11of good hitting environments. This is a great pitcher's ballpark tonight. Cooler temperatures.
01:16Atlanta finally just getting out of Hudson. Man, nothing worked for us there against the Arizona
01:19Diamondbacks. Let's see if it changes in San Francisco. I'm not sure the bats come to play tonight.
01:24You see the seven and a half? I don't know if we get eight runs tonight. So I'm going to go under
01:27in this game, but I do have a lean towards Atlanta because I think they do have the better pitcher
01:30and I like their lineup better, but it's not a great look here. So give me the Braves on the road
01:36to snap out of it, but I don't think they snap out of it with the bats. What are we looking at?
01:395-2. If that's a great score for Atlanta tonight, it still stays under.
01:44I mean, the Giants, DRS, in the third game of their series against San Diego two nights ago,
01:49scored six runs, finally snapping a six-game skid of not scoring more than four. They did win the
01:55finale yesterday against the Padres, but scored just three. So now in 17 of the last 18 for the
02:02Giants, they have scored four runs or fewer. It's not like they're an offensive powerhouse
02:06by any means as of this moment. The New York Mets continue their West Coast road trip. They split
02:12their four-game set against the Dodgers. They now head to the very friendly confines. That's not
02:18Wrigley Field that's playing against the Rockies in Colorado. A minus 2.95 price for Kodai Senga
02:25and the Amazons today. Of course, it's a total of double digits in Coors Field. But listen,
02:32this is not your cousin's Rockies team. Why do I say cousin's? Because it's somebody in the present.
02:38The Rockies just pulled off a sweep over the Miami Marlins earlier this week in South Florida.
02:43Can the Rocks win four straight as a hefty underdog today at home against the Mets?
02:50And one of the best, you know, graphics you're going to have, good and bad. Who thought about
02:54that one for hours on end to post this one up between the Mets and the Rockies at this point?
02:59So, look, I never really focus on that, but I caught the good and bad. I thought I had to bring that up
03:03here because the good and the bad are playing today. Now, yeah, Sensatello's on the mat. He's
03:08really bad, and particularly against lefties. Look at his last 30 days, Ben. Almost a 10 ERA,
03:12but a 4.80 XFIP. So, getting a little bit unlucky, but we are playing in Colorado. Here's
03:17the downfall, though. It's only 60 degrees in Colorado. Get that warm air out there, man. Let's
03:21knock some baseballs into the seats, but only five-mile-an-hour wind blowing out,
03:24not worried about rainy conditions. I'm looking at lefties right off the bat for the Mets.
03:28Brandon Nimmo, Juan Soto, Jeff McNeil, and Brett Beatty all should be on your lineup today for
03:34a chance to get extra base hits, maybe a home run, and also RBI shots here. Kodai Senga has
03:39been good over the past 30 days, but has struggled a little bit with lefties. Lefties in the lineup
03:42tonight, Ryan McMahon, and that's really all you pay attention to because I don't care if that team's
03:47won three games in a row. That team still stinks at this point. Senga should hold them down. It's
03:51just a shame that the temperatures are low. They should get to Sensatello, but when you say,
03:55well, ah, just take a team total, you're looking at probably got to score seven runs,
03:59which they can do. I'd rather take RBI chances and base hit chances for the Mets on the opposite
04:04side. Once again, focused on left-hand hitting batters.
