00:00Really good pitching matchup today in the Motor City between the Tigers and the Giants.
00:04As the ace for San Francisco, Logan Webb gets the nod in ace number two,
00:09or at least their second starter for Detroit.
00:11Jack Flaherty out there on the bump.
00:13Total standing at seven.
00:15Pretty good juice on the over DRS.
00:17What can we expect today in this Detroit duel?
00:20Yeah, take a look at the minus 118 price.
00:21Wait a second.
00:22Detroit's one of the better teams in the American League.
00:23Why would they be underdogs?
00:25They have the better pitcher on the mountain.
00:26And it's Logan Webb.
00:27You take a look at on the season so far.
00:28252 batters that he has faced.
00:30Having an ISO power number against of only 077 and a weighted on base percentage of 266.
00:35Over the previous 30 days, 109 batters that he's faced.
00:39Having an 088 ISO power number and a 274 weighted on base percentage.
00:43Now, over the past 30 days, he's faced 41 left-handed batters.
00:46194 ISO weighted on base percentage 329.
00:48Those are elevated from what we saw over the first half of the Major League Baseball season.
00:52You got a lot of really good left-handed batters, as we talked about earlier in the show here,
00:55for the Detroit Tigers.
00:56There's Kerry Carpenter, Colton Keith.
00:58You take a look at Riley Green, Zach McKinstry, Trey Sweeney.
01:01They'll be able to combat him.
01:01But here's the issue that's going to be a little bit tougher.
01:03San Francisco Giants, that offense, which was, for me, a little bit more advantageous over the first,
01:08let's just say, month of the season than the second month of the season.
01:11You take a look at Jack Flaherty.
01:12He can be hit.
01:13You take a look at his last 83 batters that he's faced at 312 ISO and a weighted on base percentage of 412.
01:19That's incredible here.
01:20But the fact is, somebody's got to be able to detonate that guy, and that means a lineup that should be able to produce.
01:25Now, temperatures today are going to be okay.
01:2769 degrees, you'll take that.
01:28But the wind blowing in from right field at double digits at 10 miles per hour, that's going to hurt.
01:32So if you're saying to yourself, are you going to get a lefty batter or a righty batter here to attack Jack Flaherty?
01:36You look at the lineup, Elliot Ramos, 60 at-bats here, a 212 ISO and a weighted on base percentage of 482.
01:42Makes some sense.
01:43Willie Adamas has had a very good start to the season.
01:46His last 69 at-bats against right-handed pitching.
01:48How about a 322 ISO and a weighted on base percentage of 402?
01:51After that, though, Wilmer Flores does have a weighted on base percentage that's decent.
01:55Tyler Fitzgerald, but nobody else here.
01:57Like Jung-Hoo Lee, one of my favorite batters to start the season, has really been on a downturn.
02:0164 at-bats band against right-handed pitching.
02:03How about a 113 ISO and a 250 weighted on base percentage over the past month?
02:07That's why you're seeing the favorites here, saying, all right, it's going to be the Giants have the better pitcher on the mound.
02:11You should be able to hit Flaherty, but there's a lot of question marks in that lineup.
02:14If that lineup was firing on full cylinders, you might be looking at minus 130, minus 135 as a favorite towards the Giants.
02:20It's hard to take that Giants lineup, but I do always trust the pitching.
02:23So I'm going to take the San Francisco Giants as the slight favorite, even though I really like this Detroit team.
