00:00Have you ever heard of a street in France with a Thai name? It's called Siam Street.
00:05In the city of Brest in western France, the names come from a special moment in history.
00:10In 1686, during the Ayutthaya period, King Narai sent a group of Thai ambassadors to France.
00:15Their ship arrived in Brest, one of the first official meetings between Thailand and France.
00:20The people there were very excited. Huge crowds came to see Thai visitors.
00:24The ambassadors walked along a main suite in the city, and the locals were so impressed
00:28that they later named the Siam Street to remember and honor the visit.
00:32The new name was officially adopted on July 15, 1811, 125 years later.
00:39Today, various stores and shops along the street have made it a favorite destination for Thai visitors.
