04 June- National weather forecast presented by Honor Criswick
Transcript
00:00Hello there, good afternoon. Breezy, cool and at times a little bit wet. That's pretty much the theme this afternoon.
00:07Plenty of showers moving through, particularly across the far northwest, where they're set to be most frequent,
00:13heavy at times and turning quite blustery, a risk of coastal gales for a time across the far northwest of Scotland.
00:18And fairly similar across Northern Ireland, northern parts of England, plenty of showers moving through here.
00:23And also at times across Wales, parts of the southwest could see the odd shower or two.
00:28But for many across the southern half of the UK, it should be mostly dry and bright, but feeling a little bit cooler,
00:35quite breezy at times, particularly around coastal areas.
00:37But it's really across the north where we're going to see the strongest winds.
00:40But even here, they'll eventually ease away by this afternoon, highs reaching around 19 degrees across the south.
00:48Then through into this evening, for a time across the south, showers will ease away,
00:52though they're set to continue across the very far north, still blustery at times.
00:56Then we introduce a second system moving through, so plenty of clouds, some longer and more persistent outbreaks of rain
01:02moving their way through as we head towards dawn.
01:04So leading to a very wet start across Northern Ireland, parts of England and Wales, particularly in the west,
01:10we could see some quite heavy and blustery outbreaks of rain.
01:13Winds starting to pick up as the morning moves through and turning a little drier, yes, across Scotland,
01:19but still plenty of scattered showers moving their way through into the northwest.
01:22And feeling a little cooler here, but for the majority, plenty of cloud is going to keep those temperatures up.
01:28So a fairly mild start as we head into Thursday.
01:30But it is set to be unsettled.
01:33Cloud outbreaks of rain continuing for much of the day as this system pushes its way northeastwards.
01:38And once again, it's likely we'll see some quite heavy outbreaks of rain, particularly across northern England.
01:43As that system drifts its way into the North Sea, it may turn a little brighter behind it,
01:48but you can see there's plenty of showers too. Once again, these could be quite heavy.
01:52So another unsettled day, outbreaks of rain and quite breezy at times, and temperatures fairly similar.
01:57Highs reaching around 18, possibly 19 degrees Celsius, but still a little cooler, fresher across the far north.
02:05Into the evening, for a time, we could see some spells of rain linger across the southeast, eventually clearing away.
02:10Still plenty of showers, particularly across the south and across the west, where they'll move through.
02:15But for a time, it should eventually clear away.
02:18But for the rest of the week, into the weekend, there is still a risk of showers, if not some longer spells of rain,
02:24particularly as we head into Saturday as this system skirts its way eastward.
02:28So it's still set to be a changeable few days, even as we head into next week.
