00:00The proposition is that money equals happiness and we of course are arguing

00:04that no it doesn't, that it might help you get there but that happiness comes

00:07from other places and they don't realize it but they're going to make our case

00:10for us. Our winning argument is actually going to be made by their team and even

00:15though I'm telling them right now that's what they're going to do, there's nothing

00:18they can do about it. Your rebuttal? It's the kind of confidence that comes from

00:21being completely wrong. It's called the Dunning-Kruger effect. The more wrong you

00:25are the more right you think you are.

00:30This would be my third Great Debate as part of the Wokka Comedy Fest. I love it.

00:38It's so much fun. The room is really responsive. They're a real lean-forward

00:42kind of crowd. They get right into it. Sometimes we win them over, sometimes we

00:47don't. It's fun either way. They're also a little bit brainy like you can't do poop

00:51jokes. You can't just get up there and go waka waka waka and expect that to be the

00:55winning argument. You have to combine the two. You have to be a little bit nerdy, a

00:59little bit brainy, the occasional poop joke, you know, like sprinkled pepper and

01:03then you win the day.
