00:00Hello there.
00:01Meteorological summer is here, but is it going to start off as dry or as sunny as spring
00:07did?
00:08Well, this morning it was dry and bright for many areas, bar a few showers across the north-east
00:12and the very far north-west, but mostly a dry and bright start to the week.
00:16But notice behind me some thicker areas of cloud moving their way through, also some
00:21outbreaks of rain across the very far north-west, and that's all thanks to an area of low pressure.
00:27Once again to the north-west of the country, sweeping in some frontal systems, and take
00:31a look at how many isobars are on the chart as well.
00:34So that means overnight tonight through into Tuesday, some wet and windy weather is on its
00:39way.
00:40That means many of us tomorrow morning are going to be waking up to some quite blustery
00:44outbreaks of rain, at first across northern, central, southern parts of England, parts
00:48of Wales, and as this system slowly sinks its way south-eastwards, that's going to bring
00:52in further outbreaks of rain across East Anglia, Sussex and Kent, where it may linger through
00:57much of the day.
00:58Now turning a little brighter behind this, but still plenty of showers, particularly
01:02across the north-west, where once again they could be heavy, may even hear the odd rumble
01:07of thunder, but they're really going to be quite blustery across the north-west, a risk
01:11of coastal gales here.
01:13And temperatures are returning to around about average for the time of year, but it's not
01:17going to be too cold across the south-east, temperatures still pushing into the low-twenties
01:21here, but definitely a much fresher feel across parts of the north.
01:24Then, eventually, overnight, we could say goodbye to that cold front, but still plenty
01:29of isobars on the charts, so it's still going to be quite breezy, still some quite strong
01:33winds across the very far north of the country, just with this area of low pressure remaining
01:37to the north.
01:38So it's probably going to be a little bit drier across parts of England and Wales through
01:43the first part of the morning, but still plenty of those blustery showers skirting their way
01:47eastwards across parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern parts of England, and
01:52eventually by the afternoon we'll see a few more creep up across parts of England and Wales.
01:57Once again, a chance these could be heavy.
01:59Now temperatures widely are going to be in the mid to high teens, but once again being offset
02:04by those winds, but winds should lighten off a little as we head through the course of the
02:08day.
02:09Now, Wednesday, we still see low pressure situated to the north, so it's still sweeping in some
02:14frontal systems, some organised bands of showers, and also more persistent outbreaks of rain.
02:20So once again, an unsettled day ahead, particularly across central and southern parts, these showers
02:24merging together, bringing more persistent outbreaks of rain.
02:28Once again, winds picking up, particularly across the south, and we could see some quite heavy
02:31and persistent downpours.
02:33A bit of a change in fortunes across the far north of Scotland, a little brighter here.
02:38A few showers still possible, but not quite as many as earlier in the week, but those
02:43temperatures still remaining in the mid to high teens.
02:45Once again, a little offset by the strong winds at first.
02:49And Friday, yep, you've guessed it, more showers still sweeping their way eastwards, still heavy
02:55and still turning a little blustery at times.
02:57Once again, they could merge together, bringing quite heavy and persistent outbreaks of rain.
03:02So a broilie or a raincoat is certainly needed this week.
03:05But once again, across the south, it's still not going to be too cold.
03:08High is reaching the high teens, possibly low 20s again, but still quite fresh across those
03:13northern areas, particularly in the brisk winds.
03:17Now, is there any improvement over the weekend?
03:19Well, there's still a bit of a question mark towards this feature, just skirting its way towards
03:23the south on Saturday.
03:24This could possibly bring further showers, maybe even some longer spells of rain.
03:29And it's likely we'll see a continuation of the showers over the weekend.
03:34But of course, if you want more updates on that, you can subscribe to our YouTube channel.
03:38Bye bye.
