00:00It's clear to me the Yankees are the best team in the American League so far,
00:03a third of the way through the season.
00:05Last year, we know what happened with Judge in right field.
00:09He cranked his toe into that wall, into that gate,
00:13and it was never the same for him.
00:16Obviously, you know, and what happened to him in the World Series in October
00:21where he never hit and he dropped that line drive, it was embarrassing.
00:26But this team now, with the pitching that they have,
00:29and Williams has finally become that setup guy.
00:32He was the closer.
00:33Now he's set up, but he's killing it.
00:35And the Dreamweaver's closing it.
00:37They have the best pitching in baseball, as far as I'm concerned,
00:41from what you're getting even out of Schmitty.
00:44Schmitt has like six straight games.
00:46He's gone into the sixth inning.
00:49Meanwhile, he's sucked as a pitcher for them the last couple years,
00:52and everyone else is doing it.
00:54Warren, you already know what Rodon and Freed Chicken have been doing.
00:58Are you surprised they've had this kind of pitching?
01:02Well, I am, particularly with the Garrett Cole going down.
01:04You figure, okay, let's see what Max Freed does.
01:07We all know he's a good pitcher, but not, you know, to this level.
01:11I mean, he's really stepped up his game, where, you know, right now,
01:14you know, be neck and neck with Tarek Skubal,
01:16who would win the Cy Young Award in the American League.
01:18And you're right about Rodon, just on fire.
01:21It's the best he's pitched since he joined the Yankees.
01:23So, we'll see what happens.
01:25I think, well, right now, it looks like an ALCS reunion back in the days of Tigers-Yankees
01:31could happen again.
01:33The Tigers are very good as well.
01:35So, but, yeah, they're pitching well.
01:37Yankees will get some reinforcements.
01:39Still out there looking for a right-hand bat, probably a third baseman.
01:44So, but, no, they're doing well, considering all the injuries they've had,
01:48and particularly with Cole being out.
01:49Warren's going to go tomorrow.
01:52Yarbrough, allegedly, on Sunday.
01:55Warren's been, I mean, he had a 10-strikeout game.
01:57He leads the all-rookies in strikeouts.
02:00Yarbrough has blown my mind, because he, like, he didn't amount to a hill of beans
02:05the last few years.
02:06And he comes to the Yankees, and suddenly he's got the fountain of youth,
02:10and he looks fantastic.
02:11What do you like in terms of their chances this weekend in these games?
02:17Freed tonight, and then those two on Saturday and Sunday.
02:21And the way they've won seven straight series, 15 of 19, they mean business.
02:26I know how good the Dodgers are, but what are you expecting as you sit in the
02:30sunshine all weekend in Lipstick City there, Bob, with your great tan?
02:34Well, I think the, you know, Max, you've got, like, Max Freed's chances tonight.
02:40You'll take Freed with the Yankees tonight.
02:42Sunday, Yamamoto pitches the Dodgers.
02:44You'll love Yamamoto and the Dodgers on Sunday.
02:47Saturday is a coin flip.
02:49So, yeah, it should be a fun series.
02:52And, hey, no one's pitching staff beat up more than the Dodgers.
02:5514 guys in the injured list.
02:57It's amazing they're even hanging around first place with all the injuries they've had.
03:02So it should be an entertaining series for sure, and I'm sure being built up as not only a
03:07World Series rematch, but maybe a 2025 World Series preview.
