00:00Rounding out our opening hour live right here on this Friday
00:03on the early line on SportsGrid.
00:05He is Donnie, I am Ben,
00:06and our Stanley Cup final is now completely set here in 2025,
00:11and it looks very similar, in fact, the exact same
00:14to how it looked in 2024 in that Cup final
00:17as we will now have a rematch
00:19between the Florida Panthers, our reigning champs,
00:22and the champs once again in the Western Conference,
00:24Connor McDavid, Leon Dreisaitl, Stuart Skinner even,
00:27and the Edmonton Oilers.
00:29Game number five last night, DRS in Big D
00:32against the Dallas Stars,
00:33and Dallas was a slight home ice favorite
00:35to keep their season afloat
00:37and extend this series to a sixth game
00:40to send it back north of the border.
00:42Edmonton had other ideas from the very start.
00:45Three goals scored in the opening 10 minutes of regulation,
00:49and the Oilers never looked back.
00:51A goal and an assist out of Connor McDavid as well
00:54in game number five.
00:55The Oilers win it,
00:57and they win the Western Conference crown
00:58for a second straight season
01:00by a final score of six to three.
01:02Yeah, six-pack by the Oilers.
01:04Those are the anticipated games, right?
01:05Even though we're looking at like five and a half as a total,
01:07like, ah, how's that game going to go?
01:09Always hard to keep Edmonton down,
01:11but also understand this.
01:12When a team is losing in the third period of a closeout game,
01:14they're going to pull that goalie a lot earlier
01:16than anticipated to try to get back into that game.
01:19But credit to Oilers.
01:20The better team in the series, as you stated,
01:22losing game number one,
01:23oh, no, in heartbreaking fashion,
01:24and then you win four straight games
01:26to wind up back in the Stanley Cup Finals
01:28to take on the Florida Panthers,
01:29a team that you lost to in seven games last year.
01:33And it'd be interesting to see
01:34because the talking points are,
01:35is Edmonton good enough to win a cup?
01:37They're probably the best player on the planet on their team.
01:39It's just that can Canada
01:40actually win a Stanley Cup at this point
01:43with the best chance to finally break through?
01:45But as we talked about yesterday, too,
01:47Zach Hyman, one of the better players there
01:48for the Edmonton Oilers,
01:49out for the remainder of the playoffs.
01:51We'll see how that plays into it.
01:53Didn't hurt them in a game last night
01:54on the road against Dallas
01:55as they easily dispatched the Dallas Stars.
01:57And so many people came on this show, Ben,
02:00and talked to us throughout the year
02:01of how much they like the Dallas Stars
02:03to win the Stanley Cup.
02:04So this wasn't a surprise
02:05that Dallas was in the Western Conference Finals.
02:08But the surprise here at this point was
02:09the Oilers easily dispatched of them.
02:12That they certainly did.
02:14That 6-3 win for Edmonton last night
02:17in game number five.
02:19Now, DRS, as we shared,
02:20the opening game of the series,
02:21the only victory for Dallas on home ice,
02:24they entered that third and final period
02:25trailing 3-1.
02:27They scored five straight goals
02:28in the third to win game number one
02:30by the final 6-3.
02:32And then Edmonton pulled off a sweep
02:34from that point.
02:35In the goal margin,
02:37in those four consecutive wins
02:38for the Oilers,
02:40plus 14,
02:40they outscored the Stars
02:4219-5
02:43in the four consecutive wins
02:45to win the Western Conference crown
02:47once again.
02:49The Dallas Stars have reached
02:50the Western Conference Finals
02:51three straight seasons.
02:53They have failed to reach
02:54the Cup Final
02:55in any of those three trips.
02:58And although last year, DRS,
03:00the Edmonton Oilers
03:01got ousted
03:02enforcing a wild seventh game
03:04against the Florida Panthers,
03:06there was still a thought,
03:07is it finally McDavid's time
03:09in Edmonton?
03:10Because the Oilers
03:11entered this season
03:12as the favorites
03:13not to just win
03:14the Western Conference title,
03:15but also that Stanley Cup
03:17as well.
03:18And maybe, just maybe,
03:19return Lord Stanley's Cup
03:21to the Great White North.
03:23But entering
03:24the Western Conference
03:25postseason,
03:26a plus-480 price
03:27on Edmonton.
03:28That was the fourth best price
03:30in the conference.
03:31They have now reached
03:32the Cup Final
03:33once again,
03:34where they will see
03:34the same foe
03:35as a season ago
03:36in the reigning champions
03:37in the Florida Panthers.
03:39Yeah, I mean,
03:40dating back to the 1980s,
03:41which was my heyday
03:42in hockey
03:42with the Philadelphia Flyers,
03:43like the Stanley Cup
03:44always went through Edmonton
03:45at that point.
03:46I mean, great players,
03:47the Yari Currys,
03:47the Wayne Gretzky's,
03:48the Mark Messier's,
03:49the Grant Fuehrer's out there,
03:50Glenn Sather,
03:51the great head coach,
03:52the Northlands Coliseum up there
03:53where nobody could beat
03:54Edmonton there.
03:55And even my Philadelphia Flyers
03:57in 86-87
03:57lost game number seven
03:59after, Ben.
04:00They scored an opening
04:01power play goal
04:02in the first period
04:02to go up 1-0,
04:03but still losing that game
04:04overall 3-1.
04:06I would love to,
04:06and again,
04:07oh, keep away from Canada.
04:08It is a fun talking point.
04:09Like, Canada's a sport
04:10is hockey,
04:11but they can never win
04:12the Stanley Cup,
04:12but it's not like
04:13only Canada players
04:14playing Canada
04:15and only the United States
04:16players playing the U.S.
04:17So it's a fun go-around
04:18when you talk about it,
04:19but I've always liked Edmonton.
04:21The brand of hockey
04:22is a lot of fun to watch,
04:23similar to when we saw
04:24like the Devils
04:25of the 1990s,
04:26the worst brand of hockey
04:27in the history of sport,
04:28the left-wing lock
04:29and all this nonsense
04:30where they actually had
04:31to make changes
04:31to the NHL to say,
04:32hey, the goal is not
04:331-0 every game
04:35and a complete war.
04:36Thank you, Edmonton,
04:37for bringing scoring back
04:38and making it cool again.
04:39We'd love to see them win.
04:40Over in four of the five games
04:42in this series
04:43or at least three of the five
04:45for Edmonton,
04:46who yesterday, Donnie,
04:47when we looked at
04:48the hypothetical matchup
04:49that seemed likely, right,
04:50the Oilers were up 3-1
04:51in the Western Conference Final,
04:53who would be the favorite?
04:54The Florida Panthers
04:55at minus 115.
04:56Who is the actual favorite?
04:58Not in the hypothetical,
04:59but the real Stanley Cup
05:01rematch that we have?
05:02The Edmonton Oilers,
05:04Donnie's Canadian
05:05and Western Conference team
05:06ever so slightly
05:07at minus 113.
05:10Game number one
05:11of the Stanley Cup Final
05:12comes your way
05:13from Edmonton
05:14on Wednesday night.
05:16In hour number two,
05:17Chris Meaney will be here
05:18to break it all down.
05:19By the way,
05:19hour number two.
05:20Next.
05:20A Stanley Cup Final
05:24for 2025 is now set
05:27and it's a Stanley Cup rematch
05:28from what we saw
05:29exactly a year ago
05:31to help us make sense
05:32of the conference finals
05:34coming to a close
05:35and what to look forward to
05:36in the Cup Final.
05:38The NHL's Chris Meaney
05:39joins us now live
05:40on this Friday morning
05:41on the early line
05:42on Sports Grid.
05:43Chris, as always,
05:44we appreciate the time,
05:45my man.
05:46Looking forward to breaking down
05:47what we saw last night
05:49in Dallas
05:49and, of course,
05:50the Stanley Cup Final rematch
05:52between the Oilers
05:53and the Panthers.
05:54Yeah, thanks for having me, guys.
05:56Always exciting, of course,
05:58the Stanley Cup Finals
05:59and the NBA Finals,
06:00but to get a rematch
06:02and it really has been
06:03the two best teams
06:04in each conference
06:05in the Edmonton Oilers
06:06and the Florida Panthers,
06:07so it should be
06:09highly entertaining
06:10and last night
06:11was just another moment
06:13for Connor McDavid
06:14on the NHL resume.
06:16Yeah, let's start
06:16with how the West
06:17was won by Edmonton
06:18for a second consecutive year.
06:20The Oilers victorious
06:21on road ice
06:23in Big D
06:24with a 6-3 victory
06:25in game number five.
06:27Chris, in game number one,
06:29the Lone Stars victory
06:30in this series,
06:31they scored five unanswered goals
06:33in the third period,
06:35but in the four consecutive victories
06:36for Edmonton,
06:37a plus 14 goal differential
06:40outscoring the Stars
06:4119-5.
06:44What was the key
06:44for the Oilers
06:45to win the Western Conference
06:46crown once again?
06:48I'll start with goaltending,
06:50which was really
06:50the biggest surprise
06:51for me in this series,
06:52and that's why
06:53I gave Dallas the edge
06:54and Jake Ottinger,
06:55who got pulled
06:55a short leash last night
06:57from Pete DeBoer,
06:57yanking him after two goals,
06:59but Stuart Skinner,
07:00you know,
07:01when he came in
07:02for an injured Calvin Pickard
07:04in the second round
07:05against the Vegas Golden Knights,
07:06you know,
07:07his game really turned around
07:08and he only had five goals
07:09in the final four games
07:10of this series.
07:11Dallas got nothing
07:12at five and five
07:13in this series,
07:14like absolutely nothing,
07:15and you look last night
07:17in a must-win situation
07:19at home
07:20with all the fans there,
07:22they had 14 shots
07:23at five and five,
07:24they had four shots
07:25at five and five
07:25in the second period,
07:26and they had four shots
07:27in the third period
07:28at five and five as well.
07:29They got the early goal
07:30from Jason Robertson.
07:31He was the only guy
07:32that really showed up
07:32for the Stars
07:33in this series,
07:35so yeah,
07:35I want to give some credit
07:36to the Edmonton Oilers.
07:37Conor McDavid did his thing,
07:39nine points,
07:39he had that unreal
07:40breakaway goal,
07:41he's got 33 speed bursts
07:43of over 22 miles per hour,
07:4519 more than the next closest guy
07:47in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
07:48He's a freak.
07:49Leon Dreissel had nine points,
07:51but also secondary scoring,
07:53Ryan Nugent Hopkins,
07:53nine points.
07:54Corey Perry scored last night,
07:55two goals for the 40-year-old
07:57in the series.
07:58Kane,
07:59four points.
07:59Jeff Skinner steps in
08:00for an injured Zach Hyman.
08:02He scored a goal last night,
08:03so I look at the Dallas Stars players
08:05and I see the five and five play.
08:06The Stars had more scoring chances,
08:08high danger chances,
08:09shot attempts in the series,
08:10but Edmonton had 13 goals
08:12at five and five
08:12and the Stars only had five.
08:14Matt Duchesne,
08:15one goal in 18 games
08:16in the playoffs.
08:16Mason Marchment,
08:17one goal in 18 games
08:18in the playoffs,
08:19so yes,
08:20the big boys showed up
08:20for Edmonton.
08:21They got great goaltending
08:22from Skinner,
08:23but up and down their lineup,
08:25they just had more depth
08:26and it really showed
08:27at five and five.
08:29You take a look here,
08:30Chris,
08:31on the seasonal statistics
08:32for Edmonton,
08:32like even the past couple years,
08:34they're a fun brand of hockey.
08:35They play a lot of overs
08:36and it's like,
08:37okay,
08:37if we get some good goaltending,
08:39maybe we can make a run
08:40to this thing,
08:40but as you take a look
08:41at the last two games
08:42against the Golden Knights,
08:43back-to-back shutouts
08:44outside of game number one
08:45against the Stars
08:46where they lost six to three,
08:47three to nothing,
08:48six to one,
08:48four to one
08:49before giving up
08:49three goals last night,
08:51is this something
08:51that we can anticipate
08:52moving forward saying,
08:54you know what,
08:54if Edmonton gets
08:55really good defense
08:56and really good goaltending
08:57along with that offense,
08:58it sounds like
08:59maybe we are bringing back
09:00a Stanley Cup to Canada finally.
09:03Yeah,
09:04it certainly could happen
09:05and again,
09:05I'll go to Stuart Skinner.
09:06He basically has to be perfect.
09:08I mean,
09:08we know what the Florida Panthers
09:09can bring to the table.
09:10This is the third straight season
09:12that we're playing
09:12in the Stanley Cup Finals.
09:13The last time we chatted,
09:14I do believe I talk about
09:16having them in the finals
09:17one more time
09:18and last year,
09:20you know,
09:20you look at the seven-game series,
09:22there were a couple games
09:22where there was some
09:23high-powered offensive attacks,
09:25especially from Edmonton.
09:26I look at games 4, 5, and 6.
09:28Actually, 4, 5, 6, and 7.
09:30They always had 19 goals
09:31and only gave up 7,
09:32but the under-hit
09:34four of the seven games
09:35in the series,
09:36it was tight checking
09:37and that's the same sort of deal
09:39Florida plays.
09:39A tight checking style
09:41of hockey of 5-5.
09:42They don't give up
09:43a whole lot.
09:44And when these two teams
09:45played last year,
09:46it was very, very similar.
09:48I mean,
09:48I was looking at it again
09:49this morning
09:49and I couldn't believe
09:50how similar it was
09:51between the two teams
09:52in terms of just 5-5 play.
09:54The shot attempts,
09:56the scoring chances,
09:57basically even.
09:59I think at 5-5,
10:00the Panthers had one more shot
10:01and two more high-danger chances.
10:03So, the goals were even
10:04at 5-5, 14 apiece.
10:05So, I think it's going to be
10:06a tight checking series.
10:08Obviously, Donnie,
10:09there's a lot of offensive firepower
10:11on both sides,
10:11but both goalies
10:12are playing good.
10:13Roboski's playing just as good
10:15as Skinner
10:16over the past couple of rounds.
10:18So, I think, you know,
10:19there's some potential
10:20for high-scoring games,
10:21but I do believe
10:22we'll see some tight checking.
10:23And that's something
10:23I took away as well
10:25from last night
10:26and the series.
10:27Not so much against Vegas,
10:28but in particular
10:29against Dallas
10:30because I thought
10:30that they were one
10:31of the deepest teams
10:32in the league
10:32and just so tight checking.
10:34You mentioned the goals against.
10:36It's Skinner
10:37and it's the style
10:38and brand that the Oilers
10:39are playing
10:39because we're used
10:40to seeing them
10:41have to beat you
10:42by scoring six or seven goals
10:43and that's just not the case
10:45this time around.
10:46A lot of similarities,
10:47of course,
10:48to last year's cup final
10:49when the Panthers
10:49won in seven games
10:51and the Edmonton Oilers
10:53were even a force,
10:54even able to force
10:55that seventh game
10:56in what was a great
10:58Stanley Cup final.
10:59We'll talk about the rematch.
11:00We'll fully preview the series
11:02in just a matter of moments.
11:03But Chris,
11:04of course,
11:04there are similarities.
11:06There are a ton
11:06of familiarities
11:07in this stage,
11:09including for the Florida Panthers,
11:10who are playing
11:11in the Stanley Cup final
11:12for a third consecutive year
11:13as that reigning
11:15cup champion.
11:16within the organization,
11:17what has sparked
11:19this almost dynastic run
11:21for Florida?
11:23I think Paul Maurice,
11:24right?
11:25The Florida Panthers
11:26were kind of always
11:27knocking on the door.
11:28I mean,
11:28first of all,
11:29there's two things,
11:30really.
11:30There's Paul Maurice,
11:31who's been around
11:33in the league
11:33for a long time.
11:35I mean,
11:35he coached
11:36against Rod Brendamore
11:37and he coached
11:38Rod Brendamore
11:39back in the day,
11:41right?
11:41So he's had a lot
11:41of experience
11:42as a head coach
11:43in the NHL.
11:45So,
11:45you know,
11:45when they made
11:46the coaching change
11:47and they brought him in
11:48after having a good season
11:49the year before,
11:50he kind of sparked them
11:51and also the big trade
11:53with Jonathan Huberto,
11:54who had a career season
11:55for the Florida Panthers.
11:56They move Huberto
11:57and Mackenzie Wieger
11:58to Calgary
11:59for Matthew Kachuk,
12:01right?
12:01And gives them,
12:02you know,
12:02an identity,
12:03a different identity.
12:04They always had a ton
12:05of skill
12:05and a ton of speed,
12:06but then they add
12:07Matthew Kachuk,
12:07they add Sam Bennett
12:08a couple years ago.
12:09Now they have the sandpaper
12:10with the skill,
12:11with the speed
12:12and Sergey Bobrovsky's
12:13who've won
12:14a couple of Esnas
12:15before this recent run
12:17from the Florida Panthers.
12:18So,
12:18I think it just goes
12:20to management
12:20making those tough decisions,
12:21right?
12:21You see some teams
12:22like the Maple Leafs,
12:24we'll see what they do
12:24in the offseason.
12:25Do they make a big change
12:26and follow Florida's suit?
12:28And I think that's what
12:29we saw with the Panthers
12:29and they're just,
12:31they're unstoppable
12:32at the moment.
12:33A rematch
12:34in the Stanley Cup final.
12:35It's the Oilers
12:36and the Panthers
12:37once again
12:38and it starts
12:39on Wednesday.
12:40Chris Meaney
12:40breaks down the series.
12:42Next.
12:42Just like last year,
12:44a Stanley Cup final rematch
12:46between the Florida Panthers
12:47and the Edmonton Oilers.
12:49But in 2024,
12:50it was Florida
12:51in sunrise
12:52with home ice advantage
12:53this time around.
12:54It's the Oilers
12:55that have home ice advantage
12:57starting with game number one
12:58on Wednesday evening
13:00up in Edmonton.
13:02And Chris,
13:02it was really interesting
13:03yesterday
13:04with the hypothetical matchup
13:06that seemed likely
13:06to see the cup final rematch
13:08between the Panthers
13:09and the Oilers.
13:10Florida in the hypothetical odds
13:12was a slight series
13:13outright favorite
13:14now that we have
13:15the actual reality
13:16of that cup rematch.
13:18It is Edmonton
13:19with home ice advantage
13:20and ever so slight
13:22and we're talking
13:23seven cents
13:23at this moment.
13:24Outright favorite
13:25to bring a Stanley Cup
13:27back to the great
13:29white north.
13:30So Chris,
13:30that is basically
13:31my question for you.
13:33A Stanley Cup
13:34final rematch
13:35would follow suit
13:36to what we saw
13:37a season ago.
13:39Yeah,
13:40and buckle up
13:41because last year
13:42was highly entertaining.
13:44I know Florida
13:44took the first three games,
13:46but Edmonton
13:47pushed that series
13:47to seven.
13:48And I mentioned,
13:49you know,
13:49in the previous block,
13:50the goals were 14 to 14
13:52at five and five.
13:53The Panthers
13:54had the edge
13:55and shot attempts
13:55and scoring chances,
13:56but one more shot
13:57on net,
13:58two more high danger
13:59chances at five and five.
14:00It was a very even series
14:02despite the way it started.
14:03And I think the Oilers
14:04learned something
14:05from that series
14:06as well as,
14:07you know,
14:07as it got on
14:08a little bit longer
14:09and deeper,
14:10you know,
14:10games four,
14:10five,
14:11six,
14:11and seven,
14:1119 goals scored.
14:13They had an eight spot
14:13in one of those games.
14:14McDavid had 11 points
14:15in seven games.
14:16He had nothing
14:16in game six or seven,
14:18unfortunately,
14:18still went on
14:19to win the Conn Smythe
14:20as the MVP
14:21of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
14:22But I do believe
14:24in just,
14:25I don't know
14:26if you guys think
14:26this is silly or not,
14:27but I'm a big believer
14:28in learning how to lose
14:29before you learn
14:30how to win.
14:31I look at 1982-83,
14:32Wayne Gretzky's first
14:33Stanley Cup appearance.
14:34He lost to the Islanders
14:35who were on a run.
14:37What happened
14:37the following year?
14:38Gretzky and the Oilers
14:39beat the Islanders.
14:40How about Sidney Crosby
14:41in 2007-2008?
14:43His first Stanley Cup
14:44appearance
14:44with the Pittsburgh Penguins
14:45lost to Detroit Red Wings
14:46the following year,
14:48beat the Detroit Red Wings.
14:49So I'm a big believer
14:50in learning how to lose
14:51before you learn how to win.
14:52You can go across
14:53other sports.
14:54The Eagles,
14:54a couple years later,
14:55a similar squad
14:56taking care of
14:57the Kansas City Chiefs.
14:58How about those Cavs
14:59and Warriors runs?
15:00I know that the Warriors
15:01had 3-0-4,
15:03but Cleveland got
15:04the second series
15:06in the rematch there
15:06before Kevin Durant
15:07joined Steph Curry
15:09and company.
15:09So I'm a big believer
15:10in learning how to lose
15:11before you learn how to win.
15:12I think this Oilers team
15:13went through a lot of adversity
15:15last year in the playoffs.
15:17There were some deep series
15:18this year,
15:18you know,
15:19losing the first two games
15:20to the LA Kings.
15:21They've been 12-2 since.
15:22They've had really
15:23no adversity
15:24through the past
15:26couple of rounds.
15:27It looks like they're
15:27kind of clicking here
15:28on all cylinders
15:29and getting the scoring depth
15:30that I talked about before.
15:31But it's not going to be easy,
15:33right?
15:33I mean,
15:33we have the Florida Panthers here,
15:34so I do believe
15:35this is a series
15:36that's going to go 7.
15:37But right now,
15:37I'm kind of feeling
15:38the Edmonton Oilers,
15:39and when you have
15:39Connor McDavid
15:40and Leon Dreisettel
15:41motivated as they are,
15:42I kind of like their chances.
15:44You see there,
15:44the short game,
15:457 plus 165.
15:46I think that's a solid number.
15:48It should be a great series here,
15:49and yes,
15:50if you put that into perspective,
15:51must lose before you win here.
15:53Ben has lost a lot
15:54at the Sports Grid Network
15:55until he teamed up with me,
15:57Chris.
15:57Now a lot of winning here
15:58on the horizon,
15:59which leads us
16:00to the Consumite Trophy.
16:02Now me at the network,
16:02I probably win the Consumite,
16:04being the best overall talent
16:05here at the network.
16:06Who do you think
16:07is going to win
16:07in the NHL finals here?
16:09McDavid,
16:09plus 110 price,
16:10Sergey Godrovsky,
16:11plus 250.
16:12Anybody else down
16:13that leaderboard,
16:13or is it
16:14Connor McDavid there,
16:15Chris?
16:16Yeah,
16:16I mean,
16:16I'd like to give
16:17another name
16:18than Connor McDavid.
16:18I would have just talked
16:19about how he won last year,
16:20you know,
16:21without the Oilers winning,
16:23and if you got in early
16:24like your boy Ben there,
16:26maybe a W for him,
16:27you're loving it
16:28at the moment,
16:29but I still think
16:29that's a decent number.
16:30I mentioned the speed burst.
16:31You know,
16:32he's got 26 points,
16:33and you look at the series,
16:35he just had nine points
16:36in five games.
16:36He has at least two points
16:38in nine games
16:39here in the Stanley Cup playoffs,
16:40seven games
16:41with fewer than two,
16:42and just two games with zero.
16:43It's just crazy
16:44to think about
16:45that he's got two games
16:46where he's been held
16:47off the score sheet,
16:48and yet he has nine games
16:50where he has had
16:50two plus points,
16:51but I think I mentioned
16:52Leon Drysdale to you guys
16:53last time,
16:54and I believe he was
16:55at 15 to one.
16:56Why not?
16:57Like,
16:57he's got 25 points.
16:58He's just one point
16:59behind McDavid.
17:00We know what he's capable
17:01of here.
17:01He can get five to seven goals
17:03in the Stanley Cup finals,
17:04and then his number
17:06could be a heck
17:07of a lot shorter
17:07than what it is right now
17:09at plus 850.
17:10On the Florida side,
17:11I mean,
17:11Barkov does lead
17:12the Panthers in points.
17:13He's going to have
17:14a tough task
17:14to try to shut down
17:15Connor McDavid
17:16as one of the best
17:17defensive players
17:18in the league.
17:19I look at other guys
17:20on that list,
17:20like Broboski.
17:21I mentioned his game
17:22of late.
17:23He's 12-5,
17:24a 9-12-8 percentage.
17:25He has three shutouts.
17:26He's a guy
17:26that could certainly,
17:27if he holds down
17:28this high-powered
17:29Edmonton offense,
17:30he's going to get
17:31some votes,
17:32and then Sam Bennett
17:33I think is a really
17:33good number
17:34at 38-1.
17:36He's right there
17:36among the leaders
17:37for the Florida Panthers.
17:38He plays that style
17:39where he can lay
17:40a few hits.
17:41He can maybe drop
17:42the gloves
17:42if it comes to that,
17:43and he can put
17:44the puck in the net,
17:45and you're really
17:46seeing some chemistry
17:46with Matthew Kuchak
17:47and Carter Verhage
17:48at the moment.
17:48So Sam Bennett
17:49is a long shot
17:50to keep an eye on.
17:51Chris Meaney
17:51from the NHL
17:52joining us here
17:53on a Friday
17:54to break down
17:55the Stanley Cup final
17:56between the Oilers
17:57and the Panthers.
17:58Chris,
17:58have a wonderful weekend.
18:00Hour number three
18:00for us.
