00:22may but recruiting world never stops notre dame football is busy putting together another fantastic

00:292026 recruiting class for the fighting irish and they already have their eyes set on some 2027

00:34players that you need to know very early on in this process two pieces of news that i want to hit on

00:40one 2026 related and one for the 2027 quarterback conversation let's start with 2026 where liberty

00:47hill texas defense tackle alistair vallejo has now set a commitment dates for june 10th and this

00:59is a very interesting one for notre dame let's talk about vallejo a little bit more specifically

01:03notre dame offered the young man earlier this offseason when they offered him he was a zero star

01:09not rated anywhere by any of the major recruiting platforms since then some bigger programs have

01:16gotten involved like michigan all miss amongst others but his recruiting profile is now booms and

01:24he is now rated as a four star the number 203 overall player in the 2026 class according to 247

01:30sports has gotten a lot more attention after a very good junior season the six foot three 310 pounder

01:37is a very intriguing football player that notre dame got on pretty early in in comparison to some other

01:44schools anyway now he is set to commits between three finals to make his decision between three

01:50notre dame of course is in that conversation the michigan wolverines are another team and then

01:55the kansas jayhawks a little bit of an interesting one there but if you look at his offer list kansas

01:59was very early on for alistair but notre dame and michigan i think is what this one is setting up to be

02:06based upon people that i have talked to in the industry on the notre dame side and whether you talk

02:13to people on the michigan side or the notre dame side both are pretty optimistic for ending up getting

02:19vallejo in their 2026 class now i like where the fighting irish are personally just kind of from

02:26people that i'm talking to i think they have a very good opportunity to finish this one out very

02:31interesting timing though this june 10th decision because he actually has a official visit scheduled to

02:38michigan the following week june 13th through the 15th and notre dame is later that month for an

02:43official visit now he's coming as an official unofficial visitor this offseason as well but the

02:48official visit for notre dame is not until the 27th through the 29th of june so this decision is coming

02:54before official visits which i found very interesting like notre dame's chances but they need to outduel

03:01a bitter rival in the end for vallejo second bit of news i'll talk 2027 quarterback recruiting if you

03:07haven't followed along with it it's because there hasn't been too much to talk about there's not a

03:11single offer still on the table for a 2027 quarterback and it's been very interesting

03:16because at this point most recruiting classes there would be several i mean this time last year i think

03:21we had at least eight 2026 quarterbacks that were offered in the class but this ideology has been very

03:28different this offseason offensive coordinator mike denbrock quarterback coach gino gadulli has been in

03:34contact with a lot of quarterbacks they've been out to see a lot of different quarterbacks seeing

03:37them throw but i think that there is one quarterback that you need to keep a very close eye on and i've

03:43been told that there's a lot of interest on the notre dame side that is montini catholic in the state of

03:49illinois signal caller israel abrams six foot four 180 pounds considered number 60 overall player in the

03:562027 class by 247 sports folks i've seen a lot of the top quarterbacks that notre dame has at least been

04:03in conversation with trey taylor who's now committed to nebraska you talk about peter bork the talented

04:08quarterback out of the northeast they've been talking to peyton houston they've been talking to

04:13a bunch of really talented malachi malachi ziegler out of the state of louisiana but a lot of really

04:17talented quarterbacks they've been in conversation with this is the guy that i am most interested in

04:22for the obvious reasons he's a local kid he's right in your backyard in the state of illinois but also

04:26at six foot four hundred eighty pounds this kid is a very natural and talented thrower and he also

04:32has a lot of upside working in and out of structure this is a young man that i think after you have now

04:38gotten in three straight years see well i'm gonna send the four kenny minchi cj carr blake heberts and

04:45then noah grubbs i think that this is the toolsy upside kid that maybe has a little bit of a lower

04:50four comparative to some but has a higher ceiling than at least a couple of those guys i just mentioned

04:55that would be a very interesting grab so hasn't been offered yet but keep your eye on israel abrams

05:01because i think that he could add an offer to notre dame very soon put in the comments right
