03:40Lying on the edge of the Tibetan plateau, over 10,000 feet above sea level, in the heart
03:47of the Hongduan mountain range, the third checkpoint, Shangri-La.
03:52For centuries, this frontier city was known as Jong-Dien, but in 2001, it was renamed after the fictional
04:02paradise, and a government bid to drive tourism.
04:05The team that arrives in fifth place will be eliminated from the rest.

04:34tropical coastline towards the foothills of the mighty Himalayas.
04:40They could head north through the untamed beauty of the Guizhou province and its newly built
04:46eco-cities.
04:47Because it's an elimination leg, we've got to be direct, haven't we?
04:50We've both agreed that.
04:51The direct route is west.
04:54Our teams could veer west, into Yunnan province, utilising the region's best connected transport
05:00hubs, but forced to travel alongside the millions of tourists who visit each year.
05:06So we do the overnighter, then you go and bang out the homestay.
05:10It's got to be that overnight travel, paid off on the second leg, so we're hoping it does
05:15a similar thing this time.
