28 May - National weather forecast presented by Honor Criswick
Transcript
00:00Hello there, good evening. Many areas this afternoon saw mostly dry and bright conditions,
00:05but I'm afraid any dry weather is going to be brief as we see a return of the wet and
00:10windy weather from the west. Now any showers across eastern areas eventually easing away
00:14but soon to be replaced by some very low clouds. Some outbreaks of rain drifting into Northern
00:20Ireland, parts of Scotland, northern parts of England and Wales and it could turn quite
00:24heavy by the time we reach dawn. But elsewhere across the south and southeast likely
00:29remaining mostly dry but it's still going to be a very murky start to the day. Plenty
00:34of low clouds, we could see some foggy conditions at times, but any cloud keeping temperatures
00:38up so it is likely to still be quite a mild start to the day. But it is going to remain
00:43unsettled, particularly across the north. Outbreaks of rain continuing, still heavy at times, particularly
00:48across the west and turning very blustery indeed across parts of Scotland. Now across the south
00:54and southeast it may brighten up a little bit into the afternoon, perhaps seeing the odd
00:58bright or sunny spell. And here it is going to feel largely warm and it's not going to
01:03be particularly cold either across parts of the north, but obviously not feeling too pleasant
01:07in the wind and rain. Now through into the evening, there's still a chance we could see
01:13some outbreaks of rain and drizzle. This band, for example, slowly sinking its way southwards
01:17into northern parts of England and Wales. And still across Scotland, plenty of showers here
01:22once again turning heavy at times. And across the south, once again a return of the low cloud,
01:27leading to some very murky conditions. And it is going to be quite a warm night for some.
01:32Some cities not even dropping below 15 degrees, so it's going to be quite a muggy feel overnight
01:37and through the beginning of Friday. Then for the end of the week, yes, there is still going to be
01:43some rain on the card, some welcome rain after a very dry month. We still have this band of cloud
01:48and drizzle sinking its way southwards into southern parts of Wales through the afternoon. And still a fair
01:54few showers moving their way into Northern Ireland, Scotland and northern parts of England. Once
01:59again, the odd one or two heavy. But where you catch any brighter weather, particularly across
02:03the southeast, it is going to be remaining warm. Still that muggy feel. Highs reaching around 25
02:08degrees Celsius, a little fresher across the north. But if you want more updates on the weather to come,
