President Trump Tells West Point Graduating Class: ‘These Are A Bunch Of Good Looking People’

During his commencement speech to West Point graduates on Saturday, President Trump celebrated student achievements.

00:04Graduating today is to get Ricky McMahon, Ricky's great-grandfather.

00:12Stand up wherever you are, Ricky, and you're like this.

00:16Ricky's great-grandfather served in World War I.

00:19His grandfather served in World War II.

00:23And his uncle, father, and mother all graduated from West Point.

00:28Where is he?

00:30In 2004, when Ricky was just a little, little, tiny boy,

00:40you'll think about that, Ricky, a little, tiny boy.

00:44His dad, Lieutenant Colonel Michael McMahon,

00:47made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation in Afghanistan.

00:52The day Lieutenant Colonel McMahon rests not far from here

00:56in the West Point Sematary, last year, two decades after losing his father,

01:02he placed a gold chip from his dad's 1985 class ring,

01:08into a crucible of 87 of the rings were within a past West Point branch

01:16that were melted down to forge that was now worn by the class of 125.

01:22He said, you know, you know what you were?

01:25I want one.

01:28Ricky, I want one.

01:31Each of you will carry Michael's memory with you always as you continue.

01:35The legacy he gave you, it gave you something that would be so proud.

01:41He is proud.

01:42He looks down.

01:44Ricky and his mom, Jeanette, he'll embody what this place is all about,

01:50and I know Michael.

01:51He's up there.

01:52He's smiling broadly.
