Merseyside Police confirms an incident where 50 people were injured after a car ploughed into a crowd during Liverpool FC's Premier League victory parade on Monday evening is not being treated as terrorism. Merseyside Police Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims warns, “it is vital that people do not speculate or spread misinformation on social media”. A 53-year-old man has been arrested by police.

00:06arrested. We believe him to be the driver of the vehicle. Extensive inquiries are ongoing to
00:12establish the circumstances leading up to the collision and it is vital that people do not
00:18speculate or spread misinformation on social media. I know that people will understandably
00:25be concerned by what has happened tonight. What I can tell you is that we believe this
00:31to be an isolated incident and we are not currently looking for anyone else in relation to it.
00:39The incident is not being treated as terrorism.
