00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Marco Britannia.
00:04Things stay unsettled with the rise across the UK during the week ahead. A fairly active
00:07jet stream feeding areas of low pressure in from the west, bringing fairly gusty winds
00:11at times, and some outbreaks of rain on and off through the coming week too.
00:15Certainly as we go through the overnight period, it's quite unsettled. We'll hold on to quite
00:18a few showers across the north and west of the UK, some of them quite heavy, quite blustery
00:22in nature, with gales expected towards the north of Scotland. The winds are a touch lighter
00:26towards the south and east, and here we'll see the best of the clear spells, and certainly
00:29across the south of the UK. Temperatures hold up fairly well, near double figures in some
00:33parts, whereas towards the north, in rural spots especially, we could see a touch of frost
00:37by Monday morning. Temperatures here down to around freezing come the early hours.
00:42As for Monday, a bank holiday of course. Plenty of showers to start the day across the north
00:46and west of the UK. Brighter skies to start with towards the south and east, but notice
00:50those showers out across western spots tend to migrate their way eastwards, so many areas
00:54are seeing some showers as we go through the morning, and those showers will give way to
00:57some more outbreaks of persistent rain across these western spots as we head into the afternoon,
01:01some of which could turn quite heavy, particularly across parts of Northern Ireland and parts
01:05of Wales too. Temperatures are quite disappointing for the time of year. In the low to mid teens
01:10in most places, perhaps peaking at 17 or 18 Celsius, so down towards the south east, 18 is 64 in
01:17Fahrenheit. Tempered across the UK by the breeze, and that breeze quite strong still towards the
01:21north and west of the UK. As we head into Tuesday, things get off to a brighter start for the
01:27bulk of the UK, just one or two showers around, but notice further outbreaks of rain starting
01:31to move in from the west and south west as we go through the day, some of that turning
01:34quite heavy again, particularly across parts of England, Wales and the southern parts of
01:37Northern Ireland into the afternoon, with the best of the lingering brightness between
01:41showers reserved for the north of Scotland. Temperatures stay quite cool, particularly again
01:45towards the north and west into the low to mid teens Celsius, perhaps peaking down towards
01:49the south east at 20 degrees, that's 68 in Fahrenheit. That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep
