Kenyan court finds two men guilty of facilitating 2019 hotel terrorist attack

Two men have been found guilty of sending money and faking IDs for al-Shabaab terrorists, who attacked a luxury hotel complex in Nairobi in 2019, leaving 21 people dead. The men are expected to be sentenced next month.

00:17Hussein Mohamed Abdel Ali and Mohamed Abdi Ali sent money and helped acquire fake identification documents
00:23for the militants from the Somalian Al-Shabaab terrorist group,
00:26which attacked the Ducid D2 hotel complex in Nairobi in 2019.
00:3221 people died and 28 others were wounded during the assault.
00:39Al-Shabaab has repeatedly targeted Kenya for the deployment of its armed forces in counterterrorism operations in Somalia.
00:46A third suspect in the hotel attack, who had been charged alongside the two Kenyan nationals,
00:51had earlier pleaded guilty and was sentenced.
00:53The two men, meanwhile, are expected to be sentenced next month.
