00:00The two main parties excluded from the forthcoming presidential election in Ivory Coast have formed an alliance demanding to be allowed to participate in the polls.
00:10The alliance aims to demand that its leaders, Laurel Bakbo and Tijan Thiam, be allowed to run in the next presidential election and that other opposition candidates be removed from the electoral list.
00:22It mainly peaced the PPACI and the PDCI parties. The creation of this opposition front comes in a tense political climate, marked by the exclusion of several prominent political figures.
00:35This exclusion, decided by the courts, have not eased tensions. On the contrary, they have rekindled attention on the Ivorian political scene.
00:44Laurel Bakbo even launched a movement by the name Enough is Enough to oppose a possible fourth term for the current president, Alassane Wattara, in the October 2025 presidential election.
00:57Faced with this movement, the ruling party, Rally of Fufuertis for Democracy and Peace, downplayed the opposition's demand, calling them attempts to delay the electoral process.
01:07The ruling party insists that the exclusion decisions are purely judicial and not political.
