00:08Kaya alamin natin ang kwento sa likod ng isang internet services business kasama si Diane Medina Illustre.

00:20Sir Mike, ito gusto namin malaman yung story mo in the business industry.
00:25Siguro, umpisa tayo sa main business namin which is sardinas.
00:311975 is when we started. Fishing business nalaman talaga kami.
00:35We grew from a fishing company and then maybe early 2000, sabi namin,
00:41okay, kasi ang mga isda na dinadala namin sa Navotas many years ago, binibili ito ng mga canneries.
00:47And then napansin namin, yung mga binibili kasi nilang isda, ito yung mga, I would say, third class fish.
00:53Bakit yun ang binibili nila? Kasi yun yung mura.
00:56Nakita yun ng parents namin, naisip na lang nila bigla,
00:59o bakit hindi natin ilata yung magandang klaseng isda at ilagay sa lata, gawin sardinas.
01:04Kami ang one of the youngest sardine brands ng Pilipinas.
01:09We started only early 2000.
01:11You're already exposed at a very young age in the business industry.
01:15Nakita nyo rin po ba yung sarili nyo like your parents entering a business?
01:19And ano ba yung business na gusto ninyo? Bata pa lang kayo?
01:22Ako kasi, ang background ko has always been IT.
01:25So, even while I was working in the business in Sambuanga,
01:29I helped set up an IT organization called NICP,
01:35the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines.
01:38Ang goal kasi ng organization namin is to bring connectivity, jobs,
01:43build communities, and bring opportunities to the countryside.
01:47Ang ginagawa namin, we try to bring connectivity now to where people are
01:52para makapagdala kami either ng trabaho or opportunity para sa kanila.
01:57Kasi once they have connectivity, for example,
02:00they can actually go to YouTube and learn on their own.
02:03There's so many open universities out there na po din.
02:06They can find work online.
02:08We can link them with work from home now, di ba?
02:12Yun yung uso ngayon.
02:13We're not a business per se, we're a non-profit.
02:14We come in to help, we don't charge people.
02:17We say nga that what we do is magic.
02:19We make academe, government, and industry collaborate.
02:22That's all we do.
02:23Sir, bakit ba importante yung mag-negosyo ang bawat mamamayang Pilipino?
02:27I'm proud that we probably have 4,000 to 5,000 employees.
02:33But that took us, what, 40, 50 years to build.
02:37I want to encourage people to build businesses so they can hire fellow Filipinos
02:42and give Filipinos work.
02:44Sa mga mayor or governor, city administrator na nangangailangan ng tulong,
02:50could be connectivity or paano magdala ng trabaho sa inyong syudad or lugar,
02:57reach out lang kayo sa NICP.
