00:05forever last night inside the world's most famous arena that's madison square garden game number one
00:12of the eastern conference finals the new york knicks playing host to the indiana pacers new
00:17york booked as a four and a half point home favorite for the opening game of this series
00:22a total standing at 222 and the rs a comeback that we will remember literally forever in nba playoff
00:32history a historic comeback in nba playoff history if like donnie you went to bed last night a little
00:39bit before 10 30 p.m eastern time with the new york knicks leading by 17 points with just over six
00:45minutes remaining in regulation even if you held out for a couple more minutes of game time and you
00:51finally turned off the television and hit the sack at around 14 point lead for new york with two
00:58minutes and 45 seconds remaining understandable heck if you even held on to the final minute of
01:04regulation with the knicks ahead by eight points eight points with 34 ticks remaining in regulation
01:11understandable it got dicey but the knicks prevailed right wrong courtesy of an aaron neesmith
01:19heater and a tyrese halliburton step back long two pointer sending the game to overtime indiana
01:27prevails in that extra session 138 135 indiana wins outright as a four and a half point underdog a total
01:37of 222 that skied over by the time we got to the end of regulation sales through that number in ot
01:44as well the pacers have been the cardiac comeback kids the entirety of this postseason and they pull
01:52it off once again the rs for a third consecutive series in the very first game of this series the
01:58most important of the postseason so far game number one of the eastern conference finals do you know
02:04how many things down the stretch have to go exactly correct for the pacers and exactly wrong for the
02:09new york knicks to win that basketball game and they did that's what it takes like when you have
02:13like a 99.8 percentile to win that game and you lose and just going back on some of the numbers
02:1814 plus points with late late in a fourth quarter the playoffs like yeah 979 you know and you lose that
02:24it takes a lot you take those missed free throws at the end of the game which we saw crazy shots going
02:30down for the pacers but it happened and the new york knicks are gonna have to respond to game number
02:33two which we'll get to later in the show but understanding how you fall apart at home with so much
02:38on your side and also bad that fourth quarter right start off a little bit dicey you get the
02:42fifth foul right away for brunson it's like hey the knicks just need to buy some time and hope they
02:46have the lead by the time brunson can get back into the game they extended the lead it was a wrap
02:50that's why i went to bed it's like oh this could get interesting no it wasn't interesting it looked
02:54like the knicks are gonna win by 20 plus points going away see you in game number two knicks up in
02:58the series one to nothing and all hell broke loose down the stretch which included an unbelievable shot
03:04a gravity defying shot by tyrese halliburton which he has his foot on the line which he doesn't know
03:09at the time and he saw the pacers off the bench streaming down the court to celebrate the choke
03:14sign there for halliburton and only to go to overtime but also credit indiana like you had it won you won
03:20the game what a comeback oh still got five more minutes to play here that was only a two-point shot
03:25knicks like okay deep breath will win in overtime and they didn't so it's almost like you won the game
03:30twice for the pacers and you lost the game twice for the knicks here down the stretch an unbelievable
03:35performance where the pacers never gave up and they won that basketball game
