00:00but drs now three times for the pacers in this postseason they have trailed by at least seven
00:06points in the final 50 seconds of regulation and overtime and they have come all the way back to
00:13win in that series clinching game game number five in the opening round against the milwaukee
00:18bucks indiana trailed by seven points in overtime with just over 34 seconds remaining entering that
00:26day of april 29th teams that trailed by at least seven points in the fourth quarter or ot in nba
00:34playoff history were oh in 1 609 basically they had never won in the history of the nba postseason
00:45in that trailing scenario the indiana pacers have pulled off two such victories in the last 24 days
00:53it is remarkable the resilience and the resolve of this pacers team coming all the way back from
00:59down by as many as 17 points halfway through the fourth quarter last night to pull off an absolute
01:05instant classic and a stunner inside madison square garden and also to have the most overrated player
01:13in the nba make shot after shot down the stretch as well tyrese halliburton finishes that game with 31
01:18and 11 certainly can't beat that i mean that and by the way the 11 assists there which means that
01:22point guard is getting everybody involved that you could possibly get i'm just surprised at the way it
01:27turned out like you see the box score right with all the players that had great basketball games and
01:31you knew jalen brunson would go over his number i was wrong on car anthony towns guy knocked down his
01:35first two three point shots right off the bat i was dead in water with that but you know what i still
01:39got the knicks in my back pocket i knew they would win this game and they're going to win by at least
01:42five points to only to lose that as well last night certainly hurts but it does set up for an epic
01:47series that we're going to have because we talked about yesterday like i'm rooting for the knicks
01:52because i like the story of the knicks i like madison square garden like the atmosphere i think
01:55that's awesome and to watch that even into the nba finals would be great but we both said like you
02:00know what still seems like even though donnie likes the knicks in game number one i still think it's
02:04going to be a pacers series and the pacers to get a home court advantage after that crazy game which now
02:09the pacers aren't playing with house money like they understand what it means to go on the road to win
02:14two games against a higher seeded opponent which they've already done so far in this postseason
02:19but just the way they came back i'm so interested to see how tense the garden is going to be on
02:24friday night and how well the pacers handle that pressure when you know that avalanche is coming
02:29which now the knicks go hey 20 point lead heading into the fourth quarter let's just say they have
02:33that we got to play all of our players right down the stretch because we can't afford to lose game
02:37number two donnie one of the stories of this game that will be forgotten after the historic comeback from
02:43the pacers was the electric start really on both sides offensively from the very jump indiana
02:49started game number one of the eastern conference finals a perfect nine of nine from the floor and
02:55the new york knicks were doing everything to keep pace we talked about the differences of this year
03:00versus last year when these two teams absolutely battled through a high scoring seven game series
03:05that led to indiana winning in that seventh game inside madison square garden last year the pacers
03:11wanted to play at a very up-tempo pace but didn't really pay play any defense this year indiana
03:17much better defensively but still playing very fast which for a team in new york that lacks a little
03:23bit of depth could be a storyline to monitor throughout this series but another storyline donnie
03:28of course in the eastern conference finals the first time for new york at this spot in two and a
03:34half decades the last time they were there playing these pacers in 2000 in the eastern conference finals
03:40two franchises that met six times in an eight-year span in the 90s and culminating in the year 2000
03:47and of course a callback to history last night with tyrese halliburton hitting that shot at the end of
03:53regulation that he thought was a game-winning three-pointer that somehow some way donnie you
03:58said defied gravity hit the back of the rim the heel and went up in the air about six feet to drop
04:05perfectly in the middle of the cylinder we all thought it was a three for a moment leading to
04:11tyrese halliburton doing the infamous reggie miller choking sign that reggie miller did to the new york
04:17crowd inside madison square garden back in the eastern conference finals in 1994 our producer joe
04:24frieza would like it to be noted the new york knicks won that eastern conference final set against the
04:29pacers in seven games yeah and again looks it has that stages of we're going to get a six or seven
04:35game series we might be in game number seven back in the garden that's the way we think by the way
04:39even who won this first game we still expected this to go six or seven now it just feels like we're on
04:44like one of those epic trilogies all the way through that says remember all those crazy games back in the
04:491990s let's get it fired up once again because the superstars are playing great basketball the thing i like
04:54even more is it wasn't 88 to 87 it was 138 135 tons of offense we love to see it entertainment all the way
05:01through
